Samsung I5700 and problems with TTS extended

I have a problem activating extended TTS (http://www.appbrain.com/app/
com.google.tts) on Samsung Spica I5700.
Starting the program and trying to change any of the options results
in freezing of the application or more often of the phone (I have to
remove the battery).
