Description:

The TK-5 Intervention Specialists will play a key role in ensuring academic differentiation within  the instructional program and effective behavioral support in response to various student needs,  with an emphasis on addressing learning loss/interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Intervention Specialists will support the implementation of the Multi-tiered Integrated Support  System (MIISS) by conducting assessments and integrating the data to provide direct academic  (math and English Language Arts/Spanish Language Arts) and behavioral intervention services to  TK-5 students during the school day and before or after school. Intervention Specialists will play  an active role in facilitating and supporting the SST/COST/504 meetings and programs. 

Intervention Specialists will create and deliver professional development at school sites (to whole  staff and grade level teams) and district level events, including during district wide professional  development days, site management meetings, and parent events. 

Intervention specialists will be assigned hours of employment (start and end time) determined by  the Principal on Special Assignment overseeing intervention services. The scheduled day shall be  six hours and forty minutes exclusive of a duty-free lunch period. Intervention specialists will be  assigned to work within our 8 elementary school sites as needed. 

Spanish bilingual preferred at all sites and required for sites with Spanish bilingual programming  and minimum of 5 years teaching experience. 

*186 days, 6 hours and 40 minutes, lunch, prep and all other elements of Collective Bargaining  Agreement apply
