Greetings Transition Town Opotiki Coast supporters and friends

Despite a slow start to bookings - we ended up on the night with a nearly full theatre for our screening of  'The Real Dirt on Farmer John'  fundraiser and social event! Thanks to those who brought a plate for supper - it was great to see that pretty well everyone stayed and talked to each other.

Almost everyone I spoke to enjoyed the film. The ending provided much food for thought as we try and get our heads around the concept of sourcing our food locally where possible.

Several people want to see it again - or show it to their grown children. Once it has completed its commercial run we can buy the DVD which can then be borrowed for home use - I know that some people were disappointed to miss the film.

After costs like theatre and DVD hire -  we have a profit of $355 which will go towards the planned 'garden makeover' project. I think it would also be good to reimburse Kazel for the photocopying etc costs she has incurred as well.
