Greetings fellow Transition Towners. I don't know about you but I am
certainly missing the weekly articles from Kazel but wish her well in
her new mahi.

The Opotiki Council has wisely decided to open up the windfall Motu
Trails plan to public consultation. The time frame is really tight,
between notification in yesterdays Opotiki News and closing on 21
January.

Central Govt has kindly included the money to build a foot/cycle
bridge over the Otara River. With the price of petrol rising faster
than the tide, I believe that with a slight relocation change to the
west of its currently Council plan, many benefits for the town would
accrue, and importantly for TT locals would be the ability of townies
to access seafood gathering opportunities without using petrol and
cyclists/tourists would have a far more interesting start to their
journey.

I am happy to send you a pdf copy of my submission on request ( I
can't attach a file here) but more importantly i think is the belief
that lots of us responding in small ways heading in one direction, is
what can create change.

Kind regards,
Lloyd Hosken
