Dear people on the TT Opotiki Coast List
Do you know about Lloyd and Sarah Hosken's amazing far-sighted concept
of enhancing Opotiki offshore fishing grounds by building a series of
artificial reefs? The project is underway and now is the time for community
support and input.
Seabed enhancement is being done in Australia - but is new in New
Zealand.
This project is SO on-board with Transition Town thinking ie moving to
localise food production; building community resilience to hardships ahead;
strengthening self-supporting projects through a sharing of skills, know-how
and involvement etc
TO get involved (and build a TT section of the reef) - come along to this
workshop day - bring friends, especially keen fishers...!
Address:
104 Ford St which is on the corner of St John and Ford St
behind some big trees.

Saturday 11 October (watch the Motu Challenge runners come right
past the gate toward the finish line).
