Hi Transition Town Opotiki Coast members
So much is happening now to bring all the work we have been doing into
the spotlight. Mark Dawson of the Opotiki News has agreed for us to
publish a weekly column on our Transition Town! Hooray! This will be
going out every Thursday, which fits in nicely with the new day of our
Green Drinks (now the first Thurs of each month at 7.30pm)
I will be writing the articles for the column, and welcome all
suggestions as to content! I have attached on our files page the
initial 3 columns that I presented to Mark for you to read in advance.
Also on the files page is an invitation by the Kite Rapu I Te Ora
Trust to join the Celebration of Matariki, and a description of the
Trust. I have arranged for us to have a site this Saturday from 9am
to 3pm to be available to discuss the Transition Town initiative,
present some information and share what we are doing and plan to do.
I would love to have as much Transition Town company and support as
possible, this will be the day after our screening of The Real Dirt on
Farmer John (see our Wiki-page for more details on that).
I have a few colour copies of the main graphs etc from the
introductory TT slideshow that most of you have seen. Other than a
few information flyers made available, it will be about us being there
to talk to the visitors to the Matariki event and sharing our message
with the community.
Even if you can't help with the 'stall' you can still come during the
day and take part in the event. The Kite Rapu I Te Ora Trust and the
TT initiative share the same kaupapa in many ways, and we are looking
for ways to support each other.
Cheers
Kazel Cass
