Ahoy,

Once again, we will be initiating the Wednesday Evening Sailing venue at the end of the AYC Spring Series.  This is to keep our sailing going through the summer.  Yes, its hot and hence the name; HEAT STROKE SERIES.  The first race is this Wednesday, May 8.  Sorry about the short notice.  In the past, those who plan to attend, respond to ALL through this website so we know who plan to show up.

THE VENUE IS THIS:

1. This is not an AYC event.  There is no rescue boat so you will be sailing at your own risk.
2. We sail every Wednesday evening starting at 5:30.  You can come in anytime but this is the first start for those that can make it at that time.
3. Any boat type that can sail on TTL is welcome.  We all start together.  There are no fleets.
4. The start is a one minute sequence.  A whistle is sounded 5 times to signal the prep. will be in about 30 seconds. One long is the prep. to start.  One minute later is a long whistle which is the start i.  If the Ferrings are there, they have an automatic start "machine" that we can use.  They will announce, by voice, the beginning of the start sequence.
5. Marks are set for a windward/leeward course with a start mark and the flagpole as the start line.  We set a short course so we can get in up to 7 races before 7 PM.  the rule of sailing apply.  A 360 turn is needed for redress of an infraction.
6. We don't keep score but we all know where we finish and if there are, at least, 2 of any boat type, you know how you did.
7. Once we are done, those that want to get dinner and drinks at the 100 mile Brewery, we adjourn there.

I hope to see many of you out there.  It's hot but not bad once you are on the water.  It is quite enjoyable.

We will miss this Wednesday, but will get out as often as possible when there are people to race against… which I think means something under 110, right?

I am hoping to make it, but I won't truly know until last minute, pending job and kid annoyances.  This will likely be my answer every week, unless it's over 112F, in which case my answer will be HELL NO.
