News and Events Tour of permaculture gardens Just two weeks away!  This coach tour of gardens in Brighton and Sussex on Saturday 8 September will leave you inspired and motivated to put permaculture principles into action for yourself.  You'll learn about how much can be grown in small spaces, how to integrate trees and bushes into a forest garden, how schools can integrate permaculture into education, and much more. To find out more information and to book, click here. Apple day Our yearly celebration of all things apple is coming up on Sunday 30 September, so mark your calendars now! Apple day is one of the highlights of our year, bringing thousands of people together at Stanmer Park to tour our orchards, sample apple delicacies, enjoy live entertainment, and learn more about apples. Apples and orchards in Sussex We're proud to announce the launch of a brand-new book, Apples and Orchards in Sussex, developed by our very own Anne-Marie Bur and Peter May in conjunction with Brian Short and Gail Vines. Signed copies of the book will be available at Apple Day, so come and join us for the launch and celebrate the bounty of Sussex apples.  All proceeds from books bought from us will go to the Sussex Apples and Orchard project. Come scrumping with us! From July to November our work is dominated by fruit picking, especially apples and pears. We harvest unused fruit in Brighton & Hove and use the fruit in a variety of ways. If you know of fruit trees where the fruit isn't used,  preferably reasonable quantities that can be accessed without trailing through people’s houses, please get in touch.  We couldn't do this without the help of our trusty volunteers. If you would like to help scrump apples, pears, plums, make juice, bake apple cakes and pies, sign up to hear about our latest opportunities, or view them online here. There's usually some fruit or produce for you to take home.
