I'd be really grateful if you could forward this message to other members of the Transition Group.
Dear all
RE: EXECUTIVE MEETING ON THURSDAY 11 OCTOBER, GUILDHALL, 6.30PM
The Executive of Canterbury City Council will be deciding on the future of Kingsmead Field (the open space at the corner of Kingsmead Road and Broad Oak Road) at its meeting next Thursday evening (11 October). The meeting will be held in the Guildhall (entrance to Westgate Gardens) and will begin at 6.30pm (doors open at 6.15pm).
Please consider attending the meeting to show your support for Kingsmead Field and for green space within our city. Not one of the Executive members who will be deciding on the future of Kingsmead Field actually lives in Canterbury, so it is very important that local residents attend the meeting. Please see the links below for the meeting agenda, Council report, and public objections to the sale of the field. The latter show the passion with which local residents care about the field and the environment within which we live.
The agenda of the Executive meeting:
The Council's updated report on the proposed sale of the field:
The public's objections to the sale of the field:
We would very much appreciate it if you could forward this email to others who may be interested in attending. This is a key opportunity for local residents to show their concern about building on one of Canterbury's few remaining green urban areas.
Many thanks
