Hi! New to group....I have just made my first mi. check on a Ford
Ranger '96, 4cyl. with a one cell- 5 plate system. The mileage dropped
from 20 to 18 mpg. I know I had some water siphon back to the cell
from the bubbler, which seemed to cut my amp. to 4 amps cold. I also
had sludge in the cell. I refilled the cell today with the water from
Rual King and 1/4 tsp. lye which made the amps. test about 14 amps
cold. So I had to dilute and dilute to get to a little over 5 amps.
cold. Does this sound normal? Am I thinking correct that if I add
another cell and put the 1/4 tsp. lye in each cell that it will split
the amps. between them thus allowing me to produce more hydrogen while
holding down the total amps? I understood from class that we should
try to hold the amps. to around 10 amps when the cell is hot. All help
appreciated. Thanks.

You are thinking right, because if you put two jars in series it will
split the volts to 6 volts per jar. It will bring your amps down as
well. Thank you and keep working!
