I have herd many different things about the sludge. I have not been
able to build a cell that doesn’t have it. I have used the plates from
Power Supply, Lowe’s and have made some from a stainless serving tray.
I have used only steam distilled water from supper D, Walgreen’s and
Rule King. The only constant I have used is the lye. I’m using 100%
lye from Power Supply. I would like to know if any of you are using a
different lye and if so where are you getting it.

Bman; the problem is the plates. Those you mention are 302-304 stainless.
Anything less than 316L will continue to produce sludge. Potassium
Hydroxide is a better electrolyte. Best place to get small quantities is
on e-bay.
