Check your plates

You might want to check your plates. I parched mine at Power Supply in
McKenzie and they are not stainless. Stainless is not magnetic and
these are. This will cause discoloration and a brown slush in the
bottom of your jar.

I think that some of the slush in the jar is from the water. It has
to be "steamed" distilled water. I checked Leviton web site and these
plates are stainless steel, but just a cheaper grade steel. These
plates are 430 stainless steel. The best to get is 316 or 302
stainless steel plates. The 430 plates may not be as good, but they
still work well. Keep saving and help keep the air we breath clean.
