Is Admin approval really necessary?

On a board with so little participation? It makes it near impossible to have a meaningful discussion.

Seeing how much trash gets slung on other discussion boards, it seems like a good idea to moderate.  I've set the options such that only "new" members need approval to post.  I think that means that after you've posted a couple times, I won't need to approve you again.  Does anyone else think I should just leave it open?
