Hi team — please read this entire message and react with a :+1: so I
know you’ve seen it.
After reviewing our budget (including incoming funds and expenses),
the cost for the districts trip will be *$90 per student*.
I know next week is finals, but please take a break to attend meetings
this week—we still have important work to finish.
Also, many students still need volunteer hours.
There is currently a poll for STEM Day Out—please respond with *yes or
no (not maybe)*. We’ll be sending out a few more polls this weekend.
*Upcoming dates:*
• *May 9:* MakeIt Clean-Up Day (yard and indoor cleanup )
• *May 16:* STEM Day @ South
• *May 29–31:* Battle Cry
• *June 13:* MakeIt Fest
I’ll update the calendar with the meeting schedule:
• Meetings will be *Monday and Wednesday*
• *Last week of May:* Monday and Thursday
◦ Thursday will be *pack-up night for Battle Cry*

we need to choose new leads for the 2026-2027 season. I have attached
an interest form for lead positions. You can select any roles that you
may be interested in and that you will be interviewing for. The due
date is Monday May 25th. Once Battle Cry is over we will start
scheduling interviews. Please let me know if you have any questions.

!channel Hi team, we have to get ready for STEM Day this coming
weekend. We will most likely have a rug and hub there courtesy of Chop
Shop, which means we need to finish repairs on the robot, give
ourselves time to test, and allow students to learn how to drive it
since our normal drive team will not be there.
We also need to make sure we are fully prepared with activities and
presentations beyond just running the robot. On top of that, we still
have some house cleaning and organizing that needs to get done around
the space. Please let’s have a good turnout at tomorrow’s meeting.
For the poll in the general channel, if you selected “maybe,” please
update it to a yes or no so we can plan properly.
Also, some of you are interested in lead positions for next year but
still have not completed volunteer hours. Now is the time to get
involved with the few outreach events we have left. We absolutely take
volunteer hours, attendance, and involvement into consideration when
selecting leads.

!channel Reminder to everyone to bring in your money for districts tonight.
Also, for students looking to return next year and going for a
leadership position, we are tracking attendance and volunteer hours.
We have not seen some students at meetings over the last few weeks,
and some students still have not signed up for their mandatory
volunteer hours. Students who do not meet attendance expectations or
complete their required volunteer hours will not be considered for a
position next year.

!channel Hi team, we had to cancel the meeting Wednesday due to low
attendance. The season isn’t over yet, and we still have a lot to
prepare for before BattleCry. We currently have two scheduled meetings
coming up on Monday and Thursday.
There are still tasks on the robot that need to be completed, and we
need strong attendance to make sure we are ready. We also still have
many students who have not signed up for BattleCry yet. Please make
sure to answer the poll so we can get an accurate idea of who is
attending.
Let’s stay focused and finish the season strong.

This week will be our last scheduled meetings of the season, so please
make every effort to attend. There may still be additional meetings
and outreach events after this week, so continue to check Slack
regularly for updates.
We have several important tasks to complete, including cleaning up and
putting away equipment and materials from BattleCry. We also need to
make sure both Showbot and this year’s competition robot are ready for
Saturday. In addition, our workspace needs to be cleaned and organized
so it is tour-ready for visitors.
For those who still owe money for Districts, please bring your payment tonight.
Lead interview schedules will be sent out soon, so keep a close eye on
Slack and your messages for more information.
