I just wanted to reach out to emphasize how important it is to attend
team meetings, especially during the first few weeks of build season.
We have a lot to accomplish, and tonight in particular we have several
callouts. Some of the students who are not coming in are responsible
for key parts of the kit build, which makes their absence more
impactful.

I completely understand that things come up—such as illness or family
situations—and those are always understandable. However, while it was
a long weekend and some may feel worn out, every team member’s
presence matters. Each person plays an important role in our success.

I want to see this team succeed, and that can only happen if everyone
is giving 100% and showing up when it counts.

We really need to do better with attendance. Some students we haven’t
seen since January 11, and for the past three weeks we’ve had more
mentors than students at meetings.

If you’re going to be out for an extended period of time, you must
communicate that with me. Some students are marking attendance in the
channel, and some are not—this needs to be consistent.

Leads who have not been showing up and continue to miss meetings risk
losing their lead role and may not be considered for a position next
year.

Everyone says they want to make it to Champs, but that’s not possible
with poor attendance. It also makes it very difficult for mentors to
plan effectively.

We need everyone to step up.

your attendance, you must attend at least half of the meeting.
• Weekday meetings: minimum of 1 hour and 15 minutes
• Weekend meetings: minimum of 3 hours
At this time, nearly 50% of our students are not meeting the minimum
attendance requirements. This is a concern, especially during build
season when consistent participation is critical to the team’s
success.
If you are currently behind on attendance, you need to start attending
more meetings immediately. If there are ongoing conflicts that will
affect your ability to meet requirements, please communicate with me
as soon as possible.
We want everyone to succeed on this team, but that requires showing up
and putting in the time.

competition next Saturday, we did not have enough students here today

here today.I’m at the point of telling the mentors to stop touching
the robot and letting you compete with what we have.
This message goes out to all subteams — Business, Mechanical, CAD, and
Software. This past week was break for you, and we should have been
able to accomplish much more. We already lost several days due to
weather, and we couldn’t get even one student to come in to help make
up that time.
At this point, we are not operating like a team that’s preparing for
competition.

Please read this entire message carefully.
Tomorrow’s meeting (Thursday the 5th) is canceled. We will be bringing
the robot to ASD, and some students have already been messaged about
going to test.
As a reminder, we will be meeting at MakeIt Labs at 6:00 PM.
Starting Saturday, we will be disassembling the robot and beginning
the rewiring and rebuild process. There will be a lot of work to do,
so it’s very important that everyone makes every effort to attend the
full week leading up to competition weekend.
We will also be sending out the competition welcome packet soon. It
will include important information about the event and our
expectations.
Let’s stay focused and finish strong.

robot. Nearly all of our mechanical students have said they aren’t
coming tonight. We need to complete the installation this evening, and
it’s disappointing that we won’t have all hands on deck.
We only have three meetings left, and we need to make sure software

to attend and help us get this finished

I’d also love to see some strong team spirit this weekend. The drive
team really feeds off the energy when they hear everyone cheering them
on. No matter how we perform—good or bad—the most important things are
to have fun, make new friends, and grow closer as a team. Let’s
support each other and make the most of the experience.

Right now is the moment where teams decide who they are. Anyone can
show up when things are easy, when the robot works perfectly, and when
the schedule isn’t stressful. But the teams people remember—the teams
that grow, the teams that bond, the teams that walk away proud—are the
ones that show up when it’s hard.
We’ve put in weeks of work. Problem solving. Rebuilding things that
didn’t work the first time. That’s what this program is about. Not
perfection—perseverance.
This weekend isn’t just about how the robot performs. It’s about how
we perform as a team. The drive team needs to hear you cheering. The
scouts need to stay focused. The pit crew and drive team needs to stay
calm under pressure. Every single person here matters.
Robots will break. Matches won’t always go our way. That happens to
every team. What defines us is how we respond.
We respond by supporting each other.
We respond by staying positive.
We respond by giving 100% effort every match.
Look around you. These are the people you built this robot with. These
are the people you solved problems with, laughed with, and pushed
through challenges with. That’s what makes this team special.
So let’s go out there, be loud, support each other, and show everyone
what this team is about.
No matter what happens on the field, if we give it everything we’ve
got and stick together as a team, that’s a win.
