!channel Should we qualify for the District Championships (DCMP) and
the board approve the expense, I will be hosting a virtual
parents/students meeting to discuss logistics on Monday night at 7pm.
This is just a heads up as we will not know until Sunday after the WPI
competition. You can check http://firstlocks.comfirstlocks.com> for
the most up-to-date information on our district rank. The top 96 teams
will be going to the championship which will be in Springfield Mass at
the Big E. Additionally, this is a Friday/Saturday competition, April
5&6. We will only have 3ish days to organize before we head down.
Students, please share this with your family!!!

!channel DCMP update: Right now we are ranked 121 in the district.
There are 96 teams invited to the District Championships (DCMP). Today
is the deadline to accept their invitations.

Many teams who already qualify for the Global Championship in Houston
from our area will decline DCMP as a way to save money and put their
time into the next level. This will probably open up a few spots. As
you also know, DCMP isn't inexpensive, so many will decline if they
can't afford it. We would be waiting for 26 teams to decline their
offers for us to go. Is this possible? Yes. Is it likely? Probably
not.

So for right now, I will be *canceling all the DCMP planning meetings
and will call for one meeting on Wednesday, in person, for the full
team to review our progress and start talking about next steps.* If
anything changes, I will reach out to everyone. Everyone did an
awesome job this season so far and we have met our goal of being an
alliance captain! Our season isn't over yet. There will be lead
interviews, planning for next year, robot updates and continued
fundraising.

!channel Scholarship opportunity for graduating students!
https://forms.gle/RpbPFz8KzkRrar6N8
FIRST NH participated in the UNH STEM Fair prior to the UNH hockey
game. The STEM fair itself was sponsored by Breezeline, a
telecommunications provider that serves many of the NH communities in
the central and eastern parts of the state. As part of the STEM fair
sponsorship, Breezeline has donated $5000 to FIRST NH to be used to
fund a scholarship to be awarded to one graduating high school student
from NH who is from one of the Breezeline service areas. This
scholarship is a non-renewal award that can be used at any of the
University System of NH or the Community College System of NH schools,
similar to how the Governor’s Cup scholarship awards are
http://handled.Behandled.Be> sure to review the eligibility
requirements for the scholarship that are listed in the application
form, as this scholarship is restricted to students from one of the
Breezeline service areas (listed in the application) and to students
who will graduate from high school this spring and who plan to attend
a NH university system school starting in September 2024.
There is also a companion document linked from the application form to
aid in the preparation of an application. Students are encouraged to
read through the application guide prior to filling out the
application form.
Deadline for applications is April 15, 2024, and the award decision
will be made by May 1, 2024.
