NAVAIR Historically Black Colleges and Universities/Minority Institutions Summer 2021

Internship Program

The NAVAIR HBCU/MI summer internship program is open for applications. The program is open to undergraduate and graduate STEM students enrolled in an HBCU/MI school. It is an 8-10 week internship that provides an opportunity for students to participate in research at a Navy laboratory.

The goals of the internship program include: encouraging students to pursue a career in STEM; furthering student education through mentorship and Navy research; and increasing student awareness of Navy technology efforts. The application period for the NAVAIR HBCU/MI Summer 2021 Internship Program closes on February 26. Participating Sites Include:

  Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD): Orlando, Florida; Patuxent River, Maryland, and Lakehurst, New Jersey

  Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD): China Lake, California; Point Mugu,

California

  Fleet Readiness Center (FRC): Jacksonville, Florida; Cherry Point, North Carolina; North

Island, California

 

Applicants for the NAVAIR HBCU/MI internship program must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  Students must be enrolled in an accredited four-year U.S. HBCU/MI college or university

  Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate STEM degree field

  Students must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5

  Students enrolled in a two-year HBCU/MI college may be considered

  U.S. citizenship and a background check are required at most laboratories
