Noit's simpler, force RageMP dev's to whitelist Shadowplay. Turns out EAC blocks Shadowplay if you're in Windowed/Windowed-Borderless, why it is like that is beyond me, EAC does not solve a problem, right now it's causing more problems.

After some troubleshooting, it turns out that the GeForce Experience/Shadowplay recording issue is technically an Nvidia issue. Since the EAC update was deployed, the game launches its own executable (ragemp_v.exe) as opposed to the old method of injecting/hooking into GTA5.exe. Therefore, Instant Replay does not work because Shadowplay does not recognize ragemp_v.exe. If anything, it is Nvidia that has to "whitelist" RageMP.

You can still utilize Instant Replay by manually adding ragemp_v.exe into NVIDIA Control Panel: 3D Settings -> Manage 3D Settings -> Program Settings -> Add. Locate your RageMP directory, select ragemp_v.exe, and hit Save.

Thing is, some people reported that Shadowplay recognized RageMP executable if they're in Fullscreen, issue is, if you tab a lot? RageMP will eventually crash on you for excessive tabbing (especially if you have more than 1 monitor), only solution is to keep the game in Windowed / Borderless mode to avoid crashing.

With that, I will now transition this thread to community support. If you have a new question, feel free to open a new thread to get the support from Intel experts. Otherwise, the community users will continue to help you on this thread. Thank you.

I have tried with and without vsim.exe. I have tried '\' and '/'. The file executable is absolutely present. So there is probably something else wrong and this is a misleading error message. But I don't know what to do next. My license is verified. I wouldn't think I would have to do re-install when the stand-alone functions fine. What does anyone think I should try next?

During the installation, I didn't think I needed the 'full' or 'paid' version? I just installed the FSE version. When I went back to the installer, I had the long shot idea of installing both, so there are now questa_fe and questa_fse directories as shown.

Asking you for the 64bit version, but asking me for the 32bit version. But I'm not aware that I could select it during installation. I have a new computer, so I'm sure that 64bit should be no problem.

Well...... We're in for a bumpy ride. I don't think windows being 32-bit is the problem? You can have a brand new pc that is 64-bit. If you install 32-bit Windows on it, it will be 32 bits. You can check that by looking at system properties on my computer. I am going to ignore that, because it shouldn't act any differently. What I DID notice, you were using the newest Quartus 23.2 while I was using ancient Quartus 23.1. In interest of upgrading my version to the latest on company time, I uninstalled 23.1 and started everything over again with 23.2.

What I am trying to do is evaluate the PCIe demo that runs on the evaluation board. And there is pain in downloading, upgrading libraries, needing Arria files even though it is for Cyclone. But I'm going to skip all that explanation and where I am at is I can compile, synthesize, and PAR this demo. Now, I want to build the simulation libraries.

Step 1: If you can't run the standalone Questa FSE, then you will never get it to run. So, need to make sure you have the license file for this. Because of the different version, I had to generate a new one. The e-mail from Intel will say something like this.

Step 5: Have a priest bless your PC. Sacrifice a virgin if you have one handy. What I found to work here makes only the slightest bit of sense. But I have repeated it over and over again. I select the fse directory. (for you replace win64 with win32.....)

Second time - 7 warnings. The warning is due to overwriting a protected file that I generated from the first run. There is no third time. No matter what I do, I can't make it work again until I delete the contents of the output directory. Can run twice and then have to clean.

I am by no means an Altera expert. Haven't used it in 20 years and decided I would give it another try. Everything I am doing here is trial and mostly error. But I have tried to give you something that would work for you. As to why this MIGHT work .......

Here is where I delve into complete speculation. As a software designer, I know that the contents of that textbox should have updated a variable after we selected the file. That variable is what should be used when we press Start Compilation. It appears as if it does not. By editing the textbox, that appears to have updated the variable and THEN we can run Start Compilation. I tested using select folder to FE directory and added a '/' at the end and it worked ... though it wasn't as repeatable as what I documented above. I also have made it compile using selecting FSE folder and adding the '/'. (Whole different VSIM!!!!)

Whatever the case in my speculation may be, I can guarantee the error message is a catch all for any problem it encounters. I received it when the license file wasn't right, for example. I hope this works for you! Good luck!!!

Hello, I see double of Prism and chromatic aberration in the Reshade menu! That normal seems like they are applying the same effect twice! How do I fix this, I uncheck the extra ones but they come back on reload!

1st: go to reshades offical download site: and download the latest version

-after getting the installer, run it, hit browse and the bottom right of the window, and go to your GTAV directory, select "GTA5.exe"

-select next, and then click on "DirectX 10/11/12" hit next again, you'll most likely see and whole bunch of listed effects, just check them all to make sure you've installed everything mandatory (if you don't you'll most likely get errors about the shaders not compiling) after checking all the boxes hit next, run GTAV and let all the files load, hit Home to open the menu, if that doesn't work, don't worry we'll get there, it's most likely due to your gtav version, but there's a fix for it, boom reshade has been installed.

Mod installation after reshade:

-open your GTAV directory with file explorer and have that set aside, we'll need it soon

-extract the mod files, open up the preset folder, you'll see a .ini file and a texures and shaders folder, with you GTAV directory open up reshade-shaders, and put all the files from each folder to their respected folder (textures to textures, shaders to shaders) if it asks you to replace files just hit replace.

-put the .ini file wherever works for you, it doesn't have to be in GTAV directory.

Mod has been installed.

Reshade not working/menu fix for newer versions:

your most likely here because the reshade menu wasn't opening when hitting Home, there's a fix for it

-go to your GTAV directory and right click on "GTA5.exe" and hit "properties" go to "compatibility" and check the box to "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" in the drop box select "Windows 7"

all done, assuming you know how to use reshade that's all, if you don't then go down one more below.

Using the mod in reshade:

after doing everything needed above your probably wondering how to actually use the mod

-Run GTAV and you should see reshade initializing at the top of your screen, wait for all the shaders to compile, after all that's done hit "Home' or whatever your menu key is, in the top of the menu, it will be telling you about a tutorial, just click "skip tutorial" and you'll see a whole bunch of shaders with boxes, don't worry about all that confusing stuff, click the long blue box at the top of the menu, it should drop down in your GTAV directory, in the dropdown go to wherever you put the .ini file from earlier and click on it, and hit select, boom done, you should see some effects turned on, just hit home again to close the menu, and enjoy
