Not everyone has joined this group yet, but I thought it would be
useful to start a thread on initial projects so we can list and track
them.

In addition to establishing his campus group, Michael is working on a
Millenium Man project.

We can have a wikipedia speakers list project Edward mentioned.

What other initial projects do we need or want to undertake (maybe we
should limit the number to three at a time at first)?

I would like to limit the number of projects we take on initially, so
that we can make sure they get done. Then we can move on to another
one. I don't want the group to get overwhelmed with the amount of
tasks that need to be done. We are not in that big of a hurry and I'd
like things to get set up with a firm foundation so that another group
won't have to do this again :) With that said, we need a logo. Does
someone have the jpeg of the previous one? Or do we need a new one?
This would go on the FB, google groups and website.

Some sample logos I had designed and updated.

Wow! Awesome Natasha!! Don't kill me, lol, I love the green one, but could the h+ be a bit smaller? I like the contrast in size, but it seems a bit overpowering. Although I could be wrong, that's just my thought. Really impressed w/ how quick you got these out, fantastic!

Yea, the green one is the best. We had a logo contest in the past, and we might want to do one again. Contests seem to boost participation. Though this will be a tough competitor

Let's just use a design (does not have to be mine) and get going.  Why waste our time with a competition at this point in time.

I like the green one with the medium-size h+ too. :)

I agree about the competition idea - that's something to do once you have a program well-established. I have wasted too much time in my life waiting for participation prematurely and in excessive ways. Increasing participation is great but only within a defined form and structure that can be revised and even sometimes reinvented to keep it fresh.

Ok, I will load this logo then as our image on the google groups. And save it on the group site for usage. Thank you Natasha for this!!
