HYSTA CHINA TRIP 2011 JULY
Organized by China Partnership Program (CPP)

Cynthia Liu, Sr. Director of China Partnership Program has successfully organized and led a HYSTA delegation to China from July 5 to July 19. The delegation featured 26 entrepreneurs from 25 startup companies in a wide range of hi-tech industries, including software, e-commerce, semi-conductor, networking, bio-med, healthcare, and new energy. During the two-week trip to China, the delegation visited hi-tech parks in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Jiangyin and Xiamen, and was hosted by high level officials from local government agencies and science parks.

HYSTA CHINA TRIP 2011 created an invaluable opportunity for entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley to gather firsthand information regarding facilities, preferential policies offered in hi-tech parks around China and the experience from predecessors who have already settled there. In Suzhou, the delegation participated “Venture Week for International Elites in Suzhou” and was received by Mayor Li Yan, who extended the warmest welcome toward overseas entrepreneurs to establish their businesses in Suzhou.

“The success of my business relies heavily on the local market. I plan to research the potential markets in possible geographic sites around China. If market conditions are similar, SISPARK in Suzhou is definitely my top choice,” commented Xiaohuang Huang. Huang is the CEO of Qiyun Technology, and he is truly impressed by the people-oriented service and living conditions offered by SISPARK.

In Hangzhou National Hi-tech Development Zone, local government officials hosted an investment summit for HYSTA delegation, creating a platform for delegates to share their business plans and innovative technologies to interested parties from the investment community.

“The time is perfect for aspiring entrepreneurs to start a business in China,” said Max Yao, CEO and co-founder of Focused Photonics, Inc., a world leading provider of high-end analytical instruments and systems to industries such as Metallurgy and Petrochemical. FPI successfully went public in China this year. Yao returned to China and started the company in 2002 with the angel fund from a HYSTA founder – Min Zhu, who is also the founder of WebEx.
