Hey all,

Our engineering intern, Eelco, is drafting a whitepaper assessing the different high-level approaches to constructing the first seasteads. We have an opening for a volunteer editor to help polish the writing.

The whitepaper will probably be 20-30 pages, drafted over the course of the next month or so. Eelco is performing all of the engineering research & analysis and writing complete initial drafts; we need an editor to help refine the prose, including logical structure, wording, grammar, and general polish. You won't be expected to review the accuracy of any engineering or mathematical analysis (although if you have the relevant backround, that's a plus), but some comfort with technical material is definitely important so that you can fully understand the text and offer meaningful suggestions.

This time commitment is likely a few hours a week for the next 6-8 weeks. False starts are more disruptive than slow starts, so serious inquiries only, please!

If you're interested, please send a brief statement of interest along with a writing sample or two directly to me. A resume is nice too if you think it is relevant. I'll be filling the role sometime over the next few days.

Thank you!
James

James,

I am interested. In addition to being an engineer, I'm a former journalist
and editor (www.bigdogz.com/bart/html/photos.html) Attached is my resume
and some technical articles.
