I spoke to Karensa Uhrig's sister Cathy at the Uhrig home via telephone today and confirmed all.

 

Blamed may of 2004 and Fridays self inflicted GSW on the "toxins" in Steve's body.

My wife will be at WA3SWS memorial service this Thursday at 1300 in support
of Steve's widow, the psychologically abused by Steve and disabled due to a
car accident Karensa.

Karen and Karensa were good friends who have not seen or spoken to each
other since May of 2004, the day we helped raise a new amateur radio antenna
on the Uhrig home. Due to Steve Uhrig's CRAZED, MANIACAL BEHAVIOR that
night, SCREAMING "I'll settle this, where is my gun?" after a discussion
where Steve stated that sales people who he employed in the past"lied to get
money from him, claiming they need to feed their families". All this from a
discussion on commission only outside sales versus salary or draw versus
commission as a growth strategy..

Steve blocked our phone numbers and e-mails and used Karensa's e-mail
address to send intimidating e-mails to my wife.

He literally had my wife RUNNING TO OUR CAR IN FEAR OF HER MORTAL LIFE!.

There is a lot more to this than many of you would think. People with Top
Secret clearances as U.S. government contractor employees and a few
employees of some "letter agencies" better re-think their histories. The law
enforcement search of the "crime scene: has uncovered some real interesting
records.

His obituary has not yet been published, and it is doubtful that one
will be published (he wasn't important or loved enough); however,
there will be a death and memorial service notification posted with a
link to same in the next few days. His wife's church is having a
memorial service, but the memorial is going to be closed/empty casket
as it is likely that the coroner will not be finished with his
efforts prior to the service (but they might get him released and
cleaned up before then). Even if they release the body, the results
were pretty messy and it is unlikely that there would be an open
casket viewing or service.

There is currently a coroners inquest underway, but it does indeed
look like it was self inflicted... and it took him awhile afterwards
to actually pass away after the act due to his rather bad aim and
messy results due to the poor aim (Secret Service Pistol Championship
Belt Buckle notwithstanding).

I had been screaming for several years that he was a serious danger
to himself and to others, and I guess I was right on the money... It
is just fortunate that nobody else got too seriously injured and that
he wasn't successful in his threats and attempts to kill federal law
enforcement officer like he had previously stated he was going to do.

Neighbors reported that from the time of the gun shot to the time the
ambulance arrived was around 30 minutes, and that the country crime
lab was there through the entire weekend removing things, and
interviewing folks nearby.

Seems that over the weekend the crime scene investigators removed
several hundred pounds of explosives from his house, hundreds of
bugs, several computers, and many, many, many boxes of business
records and files. BATF, and other federal agencies was also on
scene, and the confiscation included live hand grenades, parts
suspected to be for illegal machine guns, and other interesting
"technical things" that are likely to get a number of his business
associates (including several TSCM people) unemployed and paying
large sums of money to their criminal defense attorney.

I should add the correction that his ham radio call-sign was WA3SWS,
not KA3SWS.

you sure do seem to be both attacking him and trying to reaffirm that it
was self inflicted as opposed to foul play. Who was asking earlier
about alibis? Perhaps they were on the right track all along.

I do know that if the guy truely is dead, your attacks are showing a bit
about yourself. Is he a threat to you now? Why do you have to keep
attacking him? I would almost think that sane people wouldnt feel the
need to attack someone post mortum, since they wouldnt be so obsessed
with someones character (or rather bashing it) that they would feel the
need to attack so frequently and persistantly.

Hate to hear of that happening to anyone. I've corresponded with Steve at length over the years, and though people have had their share of problems with him, I never experienced any with him. Of course theres always two sides to every story.
My experiences with him were primarily in land mobile equipment and I was always satisfied with the transactions. In any case, my condolences to his wife and family, whom I never met.

Steve and Karensa lived in the expanded log cabin Steve bought years ago. It is the address in the town of Street, MD at the address he lists on www.swssec.com. The warehouse for SWS was a pre-existing guest cabin near the existing cabin. My wife and I were guests there including a couple of overnight stays prior to Steve becoming an overt threat, sadly even to houseguets.

I have known Steve for over 5 years and dealt with him professionally

Steve was always a couteous, generous, helpful and honest soul in his

Your message was not blocked, censored, edited, or impeded in any
way. Perhaps if you stopped pretending to be someone that you are not
you would not be afraid to post under your real name instead of
whatever other alias you are operating under this week (and yes, I
know who you really are, so you can cut the crap).

Your just upset after you got kicked out of college for plagiarism
after and they discovered that more then one scholarly work was not
your own, that the letters of reference that were used to get you
into college were fabrications, and that you were in the center of an
identity fraud ring that you and your chums were running out of your
dormitory room.

I realize that you are quite young and inexperienced, but step back
for a moment and look at how Steve has already damaged your life. Go
speak to some of your elders about where life has brought you thus
far, go speak to your priest, speak to a career counselor about your
concerns, speak to the dean that kicked you out, just talk to someone
and try to get your life together.

You were/are one of Steve little groupies, and you will likely grow
up to be just like him. When I realized what Steve was all about at
least I had the ethics to back away from him, and to warn others...
you on the other hand chose to snuggle up to him and let him play
sugar daddy to you. You need to explore with someone why you chose to
continue your association with Steve even after you irrefutably knew
he was a fraud and a criminal. Was he a surrogate father figure to
you? the big brother you never had? or perhaps the uncle that let you
sit on his lap and listened to your youthful stories while he
manipulated you in unnatural ways?

People within the security community hunt wrongdoers, period. We do
not play cute little word games to conceal felonies behind
euphemisms, nor do we suffer fools gladly. A true security person
will hunt his prey until he stops being a threat to the public. A
true TSCM person hunts the spy, chases the spy to his grave, and then
drives a stake through his heart to make sure that he stays down. A
spy hunter hunts spies, he is not a gentleman or skilled in fine
social skills, but is someone who is in an ugly professional and who
is hunting a dangerous animal. TSCM folks in general tend to be hard
working, upstanding, honest people who shoot straight, speak the
truth, and chase the spy into whatever dark hole the spy tries to hide.

Steve was/is a convicted felon, and a violent, and evil person,
period. You can sugar coat all his crimes and remember him in
whatever light you choose, but you still have to remember that you
were embracing someone that you knew was a criminal, and yet you
still chose to embrace him and do business with him... Why did you
choose to do this?

Your claim that "he is in a better place" is sadly only wishful
thinking, and shows your youth, naivete, and inexperience. I have no
doubt that Steve is in a place that is a tad bit warmer then he was
expecting, but at least he is with some of his friends... Feel free
to light a candle for him, or get a few saints working on his behalf,
if you like why don't you attend his memorial service and speak of
all the wondrous things he has done for you.

Please, if you learn nothing else, do not emulate Steve's business or
personal model, and examine your own life and behaviors so that you
do not end up just like him. You are still young enough to change
your ways, and still young enough to repair your errors so that you
do not die in destitute misery 20 years from now from a self

inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

For starters, you can start posting under your real name, and stop
inventing 15 different aliases that you use to ask questions that you
