Dear Friends,
All of you were awaiting the much wanted apology letter received by the overseeing committee  from M/s Lally Motors and some of you had wanted it from me and my overseeing committee. However let me make it very clear that the overseeing committee had been formed on the request of aggrieved member and the committee members were selected on the very recommendation of the aggrieved member who happens to be our Chapter Chairman. Each member had been recommended by our worthy Chapter Chairman who approached Mr. R P Bhasin before any of office bearers of Punjab Chapter and local unit which clearly shows his trust in Mr. R P Bhasin above all of us. Now I am feeling compelled to share the message received from Mr. R P Bhasin along with the much wanted apology letter & video clips on persistent demand of the followers(some of them are currently contesting) of Mr. UPS Sachdeva whereas Mr. Bhasin had suggested that we should avoid making public this and supporting evidences during this sensitive environment of elections to maintain the dignity and harmony among Punjab surveyors. Please find attached the message and supporting evidences.

You and your team mates are contestants for IIISLA Punjab Chapter and IIILA North Zone.

Honorable Sir, you constituted an overseeing committee on 24/08/2020 and declared committee with around 26 IIISLA members all over the Punjab with the reins in hands of matured IIISLA member Sh. Rishi Bhasin. A call was given to IIISLA members/surveyors for co-operation and to not to conduct any survey at M/S Lally Motors Ltd. and at its subsidiaries all over Punjab in protest. Meetings were held at the apathy of committee head with some of chosen immature members as per his wish, even, without information to Unit Coordinator Ludhiana (Office Bearer of IIISLA) and aggrieved Surveyor.  On 26/08/2020, Mr. Rishi Bhasin wrote a mail, the true extract of which is reproduced as under:

“Dear Chandrashekhar Kalib ji,

Greetings!

Long time to see. Sending apology letter in haste appears to cover up the issue and run the dealerships. First misbehave and show high handedness and then issue apology is a mockery, I would say. Termination of a low level employee is mere a scapegoat and bait thrown before us to hush up the matter. 

This won’t work this time at all.

Thereafter, matter was said to have been resolved and a message was received on 30/08/2020 by your office and Overseeing Committee Head on Whats App group. Respected Overseeing Committee head confirmed on Whats App group that he has resolved the matter and received the apology letter. Committee members requested him to share the same but he gave submission that it will be submitted to Chapter. As such, in official procedural way, the committee by its design, stands dissolved thereafter with your call. Then, one of IIISLA members, Mr. Varun Chandok wrote a mail to you on 31/08/2020 with cc to me which is also reproduced below: 

 

“Dear Sir,

Please refer to your mail wherein Overseeing Committee was formed by your office. Now, I have come to know from Whats App group that Overseeing Committee has respectfully resolved the matter with M/S Lally Motors by obtaining unconditional apology mail and have restored dignity of Surveyor fraternity. 

 

You are requested to guide all the surveyor members of IIISLA Punjab Chapter as to whether surveys at M/S Lally Motors and its subsidiaries at Punjab are to conduct or not? As, this is an official call by Punjab Chapter Secretary, IIISLA. 

An early confirmation from your office will be highly appreciable.

Honorable Secretary, I am of the opinion that after such a long time of nearly one month, an unconditional apology letter from culprit dealer has been received and the same will be with you as narrated above. You are requested to share that apology letter with IIISLA members who stood during that period of thick and thin with our association and aggrieved Surveyor as a rock. If you have still not received the same, kindly revert with single line reply. It will be of higher integrity of your prestigious office to gain faith in our community. You are once again reminded that this matter pertains to respect and dignity of IIISLA and Surveyor fraternity.

Now, I have learnt from my sources and it is to bring to your kind notice that your Ex-Committee head is regularly visiting Authorized dealers with some of his chosen surveyor friends with intent to shift business of UIIC to private players, wherein they will have hand in pockets, as usual, with private insurers. This will bring disrespect to the image of IIISLA. We are licensed from IRDA for providing claim services with full integrity & impartiality and not for the purpose of procuring business or protecting interest of any particular underwriter(s). If any underwriter requires help w.r.t. labour schedule, policy interpretation matter or any technical help, they can contact IIISLA Punjab Chapter or Ludhiana Unit. As, a few Surveyors along with Ex Committee head are moving along with UIIC Officials (in this case), it clearly shows some black sheep are behaving like goons or brokers. This will definitely defame our holy body IIISLA amongst other market players. You are heading presently and I request you to give a show cause notice to such persons under code of ethics.

This mail is being sent to UIIC officials for a word of cautious and CC to office for records.

@UIIC Office: Please note that our body IIISLA (promoted by IRDAI and recognized by GIC) have Ludhiana Unit and Punjab Chapter for your assistance in case of any necessary technical help related to Survey profession. Our Punjab Chapter body has 450 members with expertise in different field. However, as per Code of Ethics, our august body is not meant or should not be used to help any particular insurer in marketing of your company or procuring business.

If you require any technical help, you can contact IIISLA Punjab Chapter Chairman Sh. U.P.S. Sachdeva (98140-85859) Mr. Parveen Kumar Goyal Punjab Chapter council member myself IIISLA Ludhiana Unit Coordinator and Dy. Coordinator Mr. Ravish Talwar (98721-17702).
