Hi, Gurus,

I am new and don't know much about computers. But managed to download
tryton on to my workstation. But the script in the bin directory
doesn't look like for windows, how should I start to run tryton and
trytond?

Hello,

If you have downloaded the source, then its infact 'ready' for linux. For windows, you need to install all the dependencies.

If you are just trytin tryton out, then download the windows client and use the Tryton demo servers to connect to it.

Just refer to the previous thread to know why Tryton server is available, and possible on windows, though not recommended.

Thanks,

In this case you probably want to use the stand-alone version of Tryton,
called 'neso'. See the download page.

Tryton itself is targeted to be installed by computer professionals.

Hi,

  Please read and try this.

  http://code.google.com/p/tryton/wiki/InstallationWindows

  python tryton-install-helper.py --install.

I guess it missed the postgresql database, so you will need to download and setup pgsql8.3 manually.

for tryton client , just download the exe setup file from tryton.org

for tryton server, "the script in the bin directory" can run like this:

> python trytond -c trytond.conf

then keep the dos command window open

the only solution to run trytond on windows is try by yourself and do whatever the error message tell you :)

It's pain but worthful. tryton is a very smart platform and these pain will  lead you "know much about computers"

  Good luck
