We have a multi company installation with 8 different entities/companies which have their own set off Accounting Configuration and their own Currency.
On the party module we find them listed under the codes 1 to 8.
We have the following question:

For the relations between those companies ( sales and purchases) is this sufficient or we have to open them also as separate parties through the party module?

No, it is enough. But Tryton doesn't support yet the automatic
communication between companies.
So it means that if company A purchase products to company B, you will
have to encode a sale in company B for company A.

There were already some thoughts about how to implement such behavior
and the conclusion was to go with EDI communication. But nobody yet
invested time on implemention.

I got that, however what I'm looking for is to manage different companies with different account setup in a single Tryton instance. I noticed that when you login from Tryton client, the name of the company that was configured at the initial setup appears in the title bar (top of the window), which means, every transaction you do, is reflected in that particular company accounting. what if I want to log out and log in with a different company with a totally different accounting?

Regards,
Adrian

Preferences) and there you will have a company field that's used to
select the current company.

Note that in order to grant access to an user to multiple companies, you
have to use the main company field, which grants access to the user to
the company and all of their childs.

I got it, but what I see is that there should be always a parent company, even If I create many companies, all of them should have the first company as a parent, is that correct?
