fyi,
I've begun (and made excellent progress) porting the l10n_nl module from
openerp to tryton - lxml rocks.
I assume using trytond.modules.account_nl is the proper naming
convention, right?
After it's finished, I'll make sure of course the xml is updated as the
upstream author(s) make progress on l10n, though the scope for that
module is expected to go beyond account.
I've just about finished translating all strings into dutch, which will
be included with the module once it's finished.
One final question: have there been any discussions regarding DTDs for
the XML formats used in Tryton?
cheers.

I think you will want to translate all the application.
You can see at http://code.google.com/p/tryton/wiki/HowtoTranslate
and become the translator leader

There is relax-ng but it doesn't work for CDATA. There was some work in
progress [1] but the author give up.
I'm thinking about moving CDATA view into there own files.

I'm currently mostly interested in account and project, but doing
everything is doable of course in time. No doubt it needs more input
from domain-experts. That may happen once tryton gains more momentum in
NL - for which the account module is golden.

Yeah, I know: 'show me the code'-style meritocracy :-) But first things
first.

Ah, more people having the same itch to scratch.
As promised, I've finished and published this module.
It's available on github:
http://github.com/pjstevns/trytond_account_nl
Mercurial users can access it using hg-git:
It looks good.
If there is a consensus in all dutch people arround about this account chart,
it could integrate the main set of Tryton.
I saw there is a converter script from OpenERP, is it generic? Will it work
for other account charts?
PS: Please don't cross-post, it split the threads.
Thanks,
There is no requirement to use one chart or another in the netherlands.
You can make up your own chart if you want. It is however afaict a
reliable representation of the 'Bakker' chart of accounts, which is used
extensively by many accountants (not my previous one :-( ) so anyone
with an administrative training will know his/her way around in it.
Also, I'm pretty sure the dutch openerp usergroup has agreed on the l10n
chart and openerp-sa has agreed during talks with the dutch community to
move the module from addons-community to addons/. But that process seems
to have stalled (surprise!). Jan should know more about that.
The tax rules is another matter. The tax rules Jan did for openerp, and
which I expanded slightly, is a 1-1 translation of the VAT rules
provided by the dutch tax authority (belastingdienst). There may be some
cornercases missing, but for most usecases it should be complete.
But don't take my word for it. I'm not an accountant nor a lawyer, just
a codemonkey and systems engineer who needs an opensource accounting
system for his business.
So, I wouldn't start including it just yet. Let's first see how this
pans out.

No it wont. It is specifically used to convert (and fix/expand) the
openerp l10n_nl chart.

Mmm, I don't see the problem. Both list are for different purposes, and
I wanted my announcement to reach developers as well as end-users
tracking just tryton@.
But you're the boss.
