Hi,

We developed a new little module for Management Transport, this is used for control and add costs related to services of move vehicles, registering multiples variables like as distance (odometer), driver, sale order, fuel comsumption, route, origin or destination place/city, and indicators, this module is alpha release.

What is the purpose of the module? What kind of companies does it target?

We're on the design stage of a set of modules for managing carrier
companies, based on previous experience with OpenERP.

Some features it will include:

- Define the collection of goods from customers (where it's not yet
100% clear what you're going to pickup)
- Documenting customer shipments and packages
- Send & delivery through appropriate route moving individual packages
using Tryton's stock management
- For vehicles we'll use the 'asset' module with some extensions
- Pricelists that depend on source/destination zips

Is not carrier shipping cats in bag?

I don't get it.

For me, carrier doesn't care about what they are carrying, it is just
boxes for them.

I do not agree with that, for certain goods the specific documents will
be required by the carrier (eg for carriage of spirutueux the customs
declaration is required.)

But it is just paper following the box, nothing to manage in the system.
But I agree that boxes should have some requirement like being freeged
etc.

Also carriers do not carry boxes only. There are several kinds of
goods to be carried and prices may depend on them.
