to tryplex toolkit for Quartz Composer
Hello,

I just spent the last several hours following all of the instructions
and finally getting Quartz Composer to run all of the sample files
without any errors popping up. However, none of them seem to be doing
anything either.

I launch osceletron via the terminal, start up sendosc, and then
double click the 01 01s_single_skeleton.qtz to launch QC. It launches,
and I can see in the viewer all of the labeled limbs jumbled together.
The code seems to be running, and I can see a constantly fluctuating
frame rate in the bottom right corner (between 30 and 60 fps), but
nothing I do seems to be able to get any sort of reaction out of it.

I am sure that my kinect is hooked up and working properly because I
am able to read in all of the depth and rgb information from a
different program, and it even seems to be sending data via sendosc
when I walk in front of it (the readout of the osceletron app is shown
below).

I have been trying to see if I can debug it at all in QC, but having
never used it before my efforts are going quite slowly. Any
suggestions as to what to try would be greatly appreciated- i can't
wait to get this stuff working and start trying to add in my own
variations!

Thanks!

It looks like something is going wrong in the quartz composer end, your install is working.

Could you double check this:

- If qcOSC is in the /Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Plug-Ins folder.
- If StructureTools is in the /Library/Graphics/Quartz Composer Patches folder.
- Check if Quartz composer is set to 32-bit mode.

Let me know if worked out!

Sebastian.

I figured that that must be the case but am having some difficultly in
locating what that could be.

Yes, both of those files are in the correct locations and QC is in 32-
bit mode. I originally had placed the StructureTools also within the
Plug-Ins folder and not the Patches one, but that caused errors in QC.
Right now there are no errors, it seems to be running, it just isn't
doing anything.

Thanks for the help!

Hi
Looking at your dump it seems that you do not calibrate correctly with the hands-up position - as long as osceleton does not send anything the tryplex toolkit is helplessly waiting for signals. Might the explanation be simple as that?

I got it working! I think it was just a calibration problem. The first
time I tried to get it calibrated it took a long time and I had to
move very slowly, watching the osceletron output in the terminal as I
did it, but every time afterwards it seems to go fairly smoothly.

Thanks for all the help guys!
