I have an Epson WF-7520 All-In-One printer connected by USB to my iMac. Since installing Big Sur, it will not connect. I get a message warning of "It may do damage to my computer" and won't allow setup. I have no idea what to do. I've checked Epson site and they don't mention any issues or new drivers, which I have to use the install procedures in the OS.

If you're using Windows and you've installed a Epson driver, VueScan's built-in drivers won't conflict with this. If you haven't installed a Windows driver for this scanner, VueScan will automatically install a driver.

The WF-7520 has excellent connectivity options. We usually test printers and MFPs using a USB cable so as to avoid any network or wireless traffic slowdowns affecting our speed tests. The WF-7520 supports USB, Ethernet, and 802.11n Wi-Fi connections. If you sign up for a free Epson ConnecT account, you gain the ability to print from anywhere and scan to the cloud. The WF-7520 also supports Apple AirPrint and Google CloudPrint.

An included CD contains the printer and scanner drivers. The WF-7520 has support for various versions of Windows and Mac OS X 10.4.11 through 10.8.x. The scan capabilities are provided by a generic Epson scan utility and a TWAIN driver that allows the scanning to be performed through any application that supports it, such as Photoshop. Along with the scan utilities, Epson also includes a copy of ABBYY FineReader OCR software.

After popping in the CD to the computer, the installer first hits the Web to see if the drivers have been updated (in our case they were), and if so, downloads the new ones. This took almost 15 minutes. Overall, the setup took about a half-hour, but most of that time was just watching as the install proceeded. Once completed, we were ready to start testing.

Intel's troubles with instability on 13th-gen and 14th-gen CPUs continues to escalate, and a new report suggests that gamers are returning these CPUs at a much higher rate than retailers expect. An anonymous European retailer says they've seen four times as many returns for 13th-gen and 14th-gen CPUs compared to 12th-gen, according to a report from French outlet Les Numeriques.

Returns have only ramped up recently, however. The retailer says that in the six months following the release of all three generations, the return rates are nearly identical. Looking at the rate now, however, 13th-gen CPUs are being returned four times as often as 12th-gen, while 14th-gen CPUs are being return three times as much. Given what we've learned about Intel's instability issue, this suggests that the processors do, indeed, degrade over time.

AirPrint is a technology built into most popular printer models, including those listed here. With AirPrint technology, it's easy to print full-quality photos and documents from your Apple device. AirPrint features include easy discovery, automatic media selection, and enterprise-class finishing options.

The printers, print servers, and USB-only devices listed here are provided by each manufacturer and updated regularly by Apple. If you don't see your model, check with the manufacturer for more information.

To use AirPrint, you don't need to install an app, additional drivers, or other software. Just connect the AirPrint printer to your Wi-Fi network, then choose it in the print dialog when you print from your Mac or print from your iPhone or iPad, for example.

Similar to AirPrint printers, these USB devices allow you to print or scan without having to install additional drivers. Because they require a USB connection, they support driverless printing or scanning only from Mac computers.
