Job Description: Financial Services: Cloud Data Architect_AWS
Location: Remote
Long-term contract
 
What you’ll be doing
 Data Strategy: Overlooking the overall data integration program and proposing optimisation initiatives for efficiency and quality
 Solution Architecture: Engaging with business and technical stakeholders to understand integration requirements and lead the creation of the technical solution architecture.
 Provide leadership into planning and design of development feature, deployment features, and governing processes to manage ecosystem.
 Lead the design and implementation of critical enterprise cloud data lake /data warehouse/data mart environments, and provisioning of data for analysis, reporting and data science workloads.
 Design and implement scalable ETL processes in the data warehouse platform to support the rapidly growing and dynamic business demand for data, including automation of ETL auditing.
 Review of functional and technical designs to identify areas of risk and/or missing requirements.
 Communicate system architecture, design solutions to technical and business teams, and win approval for process improvement recommendations.
 Collaborate with business stakeholders, enterprise technology, data analysis and AI/ML teams.
 Oversight of the adoption of enterprise Data Governance, Data Validation, Data Cleansing, Quality Assurance programs where they exist, or creation of these as appropriate.
 Guidance and mentorship data engineers.
 
About you
 15+ years of overall Data Engineering & Architecture experience with at least 5 years of experience working directly with AWS and you will have robust experience on Snowflake going back at least five years.
 Bachelor or Master`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
 Strong experience in Cloud Data Management Platform, Data strategy, Solution architectures and design implementation across the entire AWS stack.
 Demonstrable delivery of business value through leadership of data programs
 Highly proficient in data platform and tools, and strong proficiency in cloud solution architecture and frameworks; ability to work on multiple cloud platforms.
 Experience in working with business, IT team, Data and analytics team in designing scalable data and analytics solutions.
 Strong experience of not just data preparation but also hands on experience as a data analyst and experience working with data science teams to productionise workloads.
 Demonstrable knowledge of software development lifecycle, and dev ops including CI/CD.
 Experience in Lean / Agile development methodologies.
 Versed in diverse technologies and new technical architecture principles and concepts. Extensive knowledge in layered systems architectures solutions and designs and shared data engineering concepts.
 Extensive consultative skills, including the ability to understand and apply customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
 Extensive understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery.
 Strong collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required.
 Strong oral and written communication skills; presentation skills.
 Strong negotiation, facilitation and consensus building skills.
 Strong experience in the Insurance Industry is considered highly desirable, but not necessarily essential.
