Hey guys,

Are there any plans so far? A space, timeframe, rough headcount?

Hey, short answer yes :) I've been calling tons a few spaces over the
last few weeks. Short answer, there's really no money to be made here
but if what you're interested in is the community its totally doable.
With that said, community means we need to attack this together :)

Everyone essentially suggested the same thing:
1) Find 20-30 full time people interested
2) Offer full time, part time (3 day a week or so) and day rates
3) Find a cool space that has phone rooms, conference rooms, one or
more big open work spaces, kitchen, bathroom, etc.

Essentially where we're at right now is that we need to recruit. I
was hoping we could sorta split this up and visit a few of the local
user groups (Ruby user group, build guild, etc. etc.) Once we get 20
people interested we can move on to construction; there's a ton of
great space available.

Anyone interested in meeting up for lunch on Friday?

I'm jealous.  I very that would be a good one.  I'll send an email out later today with some details :)

Brian, Send me some info on where/when you are meeting as well. I am interested..

Also in reading, Joe's Response over on TVRB, sounds more like perhaps building a business type incubator might work as well.  I know some people who have successfully built these in the past that I should be able to get info/ideas off of..

Deal man. Looks like it may be coffee tomorrow instead of lunch.

We want to end tomorrow with a plan for getting the word out.

Also, FYI, I've been getting estimates together from a few local
realtor buddies.. Looks like we can definitely get 12$/sqft or less in
downtown for a really nice space. Includes parking, janitorial (which
we could skip depending on what people wanted to do), and all
construction costs. That's $4k/month for a 4000 sqft space. Adding
in utilities etc, we'd need 30 full time people or so to support that
and some part timers.

Seems totally doable, all we need is 25 more people :)
