The end of
the year is a time to reflect on events over the past 12 months.

handful of search engines did just that, releasing the top searches for
the year. Recaps from the Google Zeitgeist; America Online; Yahoo! Search; Ask.com; Lycos Top 50; and Dogpile highlight the trends that came and went throughout 2005.
