Nokia PC Suite is a discontinued software package used to establish an interface between Nokia mobile devices and computers that run the Microsoft Windows operating system. Its first release was in 1997, originally called Nokia Data Suite. It was replaced by Nokia Suite and integrated into the Ovi service suite.[1]

I searched everywhere but didn't find a good Nokia suite for Ubuntu that can read, write and send messages like the Windows version. Since I have no knowledge of coding, can anyone here make a nokia suite for Ubuntu for the community?

First of all, I needed to have the contacts in a form that can be imported somehow by the PC suite, so I exported all the contacts from Google to .csv and .vcf formats just in case one did not work.

Awesome, we have all our contacts splitted in a single .vcf file per contact. Now the last thing to do is just select all these .vcf files, COPY them (CTRL + C) and then PASTE them (CTRL + V) into the PC suite contacts section, or simply use the File => Import wizard and select all the .vcf files from the opened window.

To be honest this was the first solution I tried but it instantly failed so I went on with PC suite, until that one also failed and I returned to this one. This time I noticed that it was just a small step missing to make it work.

Nokia bundles with the Nokia 301 an application named Tansfer which you can also manually install on your own by downloading the .jar/.jad setup files and using PC suite to install them on the device. I manually installed the latest version Transfer 1.0.11.

Then I went with PC suite route but we know how that ended up. So I decided to give another go on this simple method. This time, the magic was that I deleted the bluetooth pairing between the phones on both of them.

Nokia PC Suite is a user-friendly software package for connecting Nokia mobile phones to your computer. It features an intuitive user interface and easy-to-use tools for managing your phone with the main options of file transfers, contact management and device settings. With Nokia PC Suite, you can keep your phone up to date, transfer files between your computer and phone, and even create new contacts.Once you get your Nokia phone connected to your PC with the USB cable and the proper drivers installed, you'll be able to access the tons of features Nokia offers with its PC suite. With the PC Suite, you're able to connect your phone not only by USB, but also by Bluetooth and other connection options depending on your phone model. The software can also help you download firmware updates for your Nokia handset, but BEWARE! I highly suggest avoiding firmware updates on Windows Vista systems. I did attempt a firmware update under Vista and it crashed, requiring me to bring my Nokia N95 in for service. I can't say whether this was an isolated incident, but I remember reading some forum threads recently which discouraged that.Overall, you can use this program to update maps, synchronize media files like MP3 and movies, upload custom ringtones, backup and restore your contacts and do whatever you'd like with your phone's calendar.Another cool feature is being able to view and backup SMS text messages or MMS messages. You can do that if you're about to update your phone's firmware because after an update, you lose everything in older models. One other cool thing when you have this with the driver installed is that you can browse your phone's filesystem through Windows Explorer, though using that is a little bit sluggish.Features of Nokia PC Suite

my nokia asha 210 cannot connect to any computer because ???? when I connect it through the usb it asks me for mode, sync and connect or memory card and I tried all of them and none works for me, what...

I have a bunch of CRT's to optimize.
Mainly an IBM 21" Trinitron but also some older stuff like IBM 8513/8518, PS/1 SVGA, Aptiva 2124, IBM 5153, commodore 1084 and some other more obscure CRT's.
Can anyone recommend a suite that will run under DOS or windows?
I heard about the 240p test suite but it seems to be for consoles only? Is there something similar or better?

Thanks, I'll try it out.
So far the eizo is the best but it does not run well enough in 640x480, 256c.
The Nokia suite does and has good and useful images. I have only tried it in win Me and XP.

I know only the real nokia pc suite from original Nokia for management of those real Nokia phones.
This did never work for me on w10, it runs on w7, but I have for that purpose even a XP computer on which I do the work on those old phones.

Starting today Nokia customers in eleven countries with compatible S60 devices can download the new suite enabling access to Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, Windows Live Contacts and Windows Live Spaces. Starting next year, customers who purchase compatible Nokia Series 40 handsets will also have access to these popular Windows Live services.

Nokia customers who own the Nokia N73, N76, N80 Internet Edition, N93i, and the N95 multimedia computers can get the Windows Live services via the Download! application in the following countries; Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, UK, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Customers can visit www.nokia.com/windowslive to learn more, and check if their country is on the availability list. Initially the service will be available as a free trial and then customers in select markets wishing to continue using the service may be asked to pay a monthly fee.

This guide will show you how to back up data from your phone to your computer using PC Suite. PC suite can backup SMS, Contacts, Images and Videos, Bookmarks, and other settings from the phone memory and memory card.

We all know the importance of data on our phones like SMS, Contact, Images, etc., which are very important. So it is very crucial to backup the phone. If in case you accidentally delete your important contact or SMS from your phone, you can use the restore option in the PC suite to restore it from your previous backup.

If you don't have an original CD included in the package together with your Nokia phone, you can still download it from the Nokia's web for free. Just point your browser to the www.nokia.com, select your region, click the Get support and software and Download software link. You should see the download link for the Nokia PC Suite software. Don't forget to select you phone (in my case Nokia 5310 XpressMusic) before you will start the download. This will select the appropriate version of the software for your Nokia phone.

The installation of Nokia PC Suite is like an installation of any other windows software. Just click the Next button (with arrow symbol) whenever you are prompted. Before the installation is finished, you will be prompted to connect your phone to the PC. I prefer USB cable connection, so I connected the phone to my laptop and had wait for a while until the drivers were installed.

I am connecting with Bluetooth connection but it says "Cannot authenticate the phone". I searched Google and the solution I found was to edit bth.inf file. I did try this method but I think I didn't do it right, can somebody help me please, I really need this phone to connect with PC suite.

I'm not entirely sure if it'll work, now please note I could be wrong, just PC suite played best on old machines, and the bluetooth tech has changed, I only think you might be able to cable transfer, but my knowledge is limited as I haven't looked into PC suite and Nokia since 2010.

By the time this deal comes to fruition, it's possible that any mobile device with a Web browser will be able to handle some Office functionality. With Office 2010, Microsoft is also planning to release Office Web Applications (browser versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and OneNote) but that release is completely separate from today's deal for Office Mobile. The Office Web Applications will support Internet Explorer 7, Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.5 on Windows, Mac, and Linux, as well as Safari 4 on Mac. Testers will get access to the Office Web Apps in August and the final versions will arrive in the first half of 2010, when the whole Office 2010 suite is expected to arrive.

If you're gonna go Windows Phone, Nokia is the way to go.. the Nokia suite of apps is awesome, esp. the Drive and Here maps. And they give you dedicated WP hardware, not, recycled last generation cr@p with a different OS rom.
