After thinking about it for quite a long time, I finally got my hands on Midsummer Mischief, a freeform PG Wodehouse LARP for 25 people. I've played in it once before and it was AWESOME. I would like to run it sometime and frankly I don't know if I can wait until next summer, so it's a lucky thing we're in California. However, I can't fit 25 people in my apartment. In fact, I don't even know 25 people. Thank god for the internet.

Here's what I would need to run this:

A room that would accommodate 25ish people. It really doesn't have to be anything pretty as long as it's large, although any of the following features would be totally sweet: large balconies, porches, yards, or anything that would remind one of a 1930's British manor house.

20-25 people interested in playing. I'd like to be able to give everyone a short questionnaire so they can choose what kind of character they'd prefer to play, if there's any friends they'd like to be paired with (or enemies with) in-game. This way I can send out people's characters in advance and they can have time to go over all the information (in addition to the general character description each person has many different goals, items, and secrets, and I'd like everyone to be prepared enough to utilize them all) and, if possible, dress appropriately for the occasion.

Two or three additional people to be Directors (GMs, mostly there to reveal surprise results to various actions as they're performed). These lovely people will be rewarded for their efforts!

So... I'd love to hear from anyone who is interested so I can build a list of possible players and contact people once we have a location so we can decide on a date. And also, I'd love to hear from anyone who knows of a location!

Hope to hear from people! (What-ho and jolly good and so-on)

Dude! This sounds great!! I'm not sure about a space yet,
but I would totally help direct and promote this.
My house with the porch could possibly accommodate 25
people, but it's not ideal.

My house! Let me show you it!

It's so ideal that it would be almost criminal not to offer it. Built
1905, various seating in the large main room, foyer and dining room and
largish porch. Near enough to the 19th St BART to be walkable.

Wodehouse LARP sounds like great fun and I could probably summon a few
other people to also be players depending on date. I probably can't help
GM, but otherwise, yay.

I don't suppose it could be converted in some way to a Halloween
affair, since that will be coming up soon and a big party game would
be awesome for that!

Yay, it sounds great! I like Robert's idea, should we run it late-
October maybe, when people are in the mood for costumes? (This also
gives everyone time to rope more friends into coming)

Okay, so here's what I'm thinking..

Madeline has graciously offered her house (sweet! btw, we should
totally meet up for coffee and get introduced) and mid-October seems
like a good time as people will be in the costume mood. Would the 18th
be a good time? What we can start doing now is sending out invitations
among friends. I have a questionnaire which will help organize who
wants to play what kind of part, which I'd need completed by any
interested parties. I've uploaded the file "casting" to the group
(sorry about the old format!). So basically a completed form means
you're in, and you should let me know well in advance if you have to
cancel! At the most there are about 7 characters out of 25 that are
unnecessary but for the whole thing to work we really do need a large
crowd! I'll email out characters about a week or so in advance. Also
anyone who wants to volunteer to help GM should contact me so I can
give you a copy of the rulebook.

Yay!

Can I start scouting for players, or do you think you have enough?
I've got a couple friends who aren't usually gamers, but I think
they'd fit right in with this.

Yeah, I don't know if I have enough. I'm going to do first-come first-
served so if people are interested they should fill out the "casting"
file and send it to me. Btw, I updated the file to include a deadline
and my address. =)
