COOKING INFO -   Wed Jan 24th     (RSVP by Mon Jan 22)
I will be going over things for the cooking merit badge next Wednesday : Jan 24  7-9 pm
At the Detwilers   114 Lily Drive   Glenshaw, PA 15116

You will need the cooking merit badge book and a print out of the workbook pages. This is the link for the newest one and the one I will be using.
https://meritbadge.org/wiki/images/8/87/Cooking.pdf
For this merit badge the  workbook pages are extremely helpful for recording everything that needs done. Some of the questions we will discuss verbally, so i am not requiring everything to be filled out. But I am requiring that the pages for the menus be filled out after we meet.  Reading through the  book (NOT including the recipe section at the back) will help them with the discussion. So if possible, please try to read at least some of the book before Wednesday.
Wednesday we’ll go over the information content and talk about what you need to do on your own to finish the badge.

For those of you who have already started this badge with me, please be sure to contact me separately to go over the things you have accomplished so far.

FIRST AID INFO
Wednesdays Feb 21 and 28     7-9 pm  RSVP ASAP
at the Detwilers    114 Lily Drive, Glenshaw, PA 15116
If you need the first aid merit badge, this is a good way to do it. This is an eagle required badge.

You will need to have the first aid merit badge book

If you want to use the workbook you may find it helpful. The link to the newest one is
https://meritbadge.org/wiki/images/9/98/First_Aid.pdf

For the first night you need to simply read  thru page 52 which should include the following sections
intro
how to handle an Emergency
first aid supplies and skills
minor wounds and injuries
muscle, joint, and bone injuries

You need to attend both meetings — the first night we’ll go over the first half of the book and practice using splints and ace wraps
The second night we’ll finish the book and practice things like how to use an epi pen.

For those of you who started this with me but still need to teach someone how to apply a sling, please contact me about when you want to finish it.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Hi all,
This is what I have so far for the sign up for  first aid . Please let me know if I missed someone.

DATE CHANGE: I am told there is swimming merit badge on Wed Feb 28th, so we will CHANGE the date for FIRST AID to Wed  Feb 21 as before and Wed March 7th.
IF this is a problem, please let me know. I just wanted everyone to have the option to do the swimming  and I am sure it is easier if I change the first aid date.
i have the links and requirements for each summarized below.

If you would like to take this eagle required merit badge, please let me know.  See details below. You will need the first aid merit badge book, you may find the merit badge workbook helpful. You can download the workbook for free at the link below. You can purchase the actual first aid merit badge book or borrow one from the troop library — this is what you need to read ahead of time.
