Troop,
Please do not forget that we have a meeting tomorrow at 7:00 pm. We will be doing elections and performing skits. If your patrol needs more time practice your skit, please organize with your patrol to arrive at 6:30. For those of you who have taken home your flags, please make sure that you have them for tomorrow.
For elections, you must be first class and above, and at least 13 years old to run. Please be prepared to talk for 30 seconds or less about why you are running, and why you are right for the job. If anyone has any questions, ask at the meeting tomorrow or email me tonight.
Thank you,
Leo Coons

Hello troop,

Troop 45 has invited any interested scouts and adults to attend their Fish-A-Palooza! At least 1 adult needs to attend with Troop 246's scouts to make their own patrol for cooking and events. You will also need to bring your own tents and patrol boxes. Interested scouts might want to hit reply all to this email to see if there are other scouts who wish to attend. If there are scouts who plan to attend, you should then email Mrs. Quinn at Quin...@shenet.org to make final arrangements. Below is her email to Troop 45 which gives more information.  You will want to act fast because the trip is soon!

Thanks, Mrs. Coons

Dear Troop 45,

I wanted to take a minute and give each of you a more detailed description of Fish-A-Palooza. I will need everyone signed up by the end of tomorrow night's meeting so I can make final arrangements and get the final prices based on our numbers and that of the participants of Troop 30 who are going with us. We will use future meeting time to plan menus and such for those attending.

So, this is a three day weekend trip, scheduled for Sat-Sun-Monday of Columbus Day Weekend (Oct 7-8-9).

Saturday - We meet at the church, gather our gear, and get going to Narragansett, RI (about 3 hours away). We will make camp and at Camp Aquapaug in tents. We will go into town that night for a movie at the local theater. I don't know what's playing yet. I should find out soon. then we come back and go to sleep.

Sunday - we will be up and out early for a full day fishing charter with the Frances Fleet  ( http://francesfleet.com/  )  Depending on how many people sign up, we will fish on the big boat with the general public or they will put us on our own charter boat with more options of what to fish for (Porgies, fluke, sea bass) and ironically, a lower price!  Once done fishing, we will take our catches back to camp and grill them up for dinner. I will be making something for the non-fish eaters.  We camp at Aquapaug one more night.

Monday - We pack up and head home.

Costs - this is a more expensive trip than a council camping event. The biggest cost will likely be the charter. Worst case for the fishing day is $70/scout which includes rod/reel/bait. The adult rate is $90 for a full fishing day with rod/reel/bait. Movie will be about $15 per person. Aquapaug's rental for out of council use is $75, Food we generally average about $15/day per person. Full cost will be determined once we know how many will be attending and get confirmation from Frances Fleet and the movie theater.

Drivers/adults needed.

Come on scouts!!!!  This is a fun trip!  There will be scouts from Troop 30 and hopefully 246 as well!!!  Lots of you were all over the fishing at summer camp! This is bound to be much better!

This is the trip that I promised Tommy I'd run if he joined scouts! He's been waiting almost two years for it. Please come and help up make it awesome!

Thanks!

Sarah
