Schuylkill River Rugby Hall of Fame

Troop Guys,

I know it's been a long time since I've used this e-mail list instead of the big Troop list but I wanted to give guys an opportunity for discussion. Schuylkill River Rugby has a banquet/hall of fame ceremony coming up and they have decided to allow us to induct someone into their hall of fame should we choose to do so.

In addition, Schuylkill will be grandfathering Troop's 10 Honorary Lifetime Members into the hall of fame (those members are John McMullen (1992), Steve Green (1995), George Connell (2001), Jim Hegarty (2002), Jamie Catrambone (2004), Terry Wendelken (2004), John Hughes (2006), Gary Kribbs (2010), Len Borcky (2014), Joe Howard (2015)).

Schuylkill's process is to open up nominations to any past or present player, make a final ballot of players who received at least 3 nominations and then induct the guys who get the most votes (last year was special so 4 got in, I believe it'll be 2 going forward). This is quite different from Troop's system of nominating people fairly rarely and requiring a 2/3rds majority.

For this reason, before we even get into nominations/voting I'd like to know if the people on this list are even in favor of inducting someone at all. I'll remind everyone that this is Schuylkill's Hall of Fame and they are generously letting 10 of our guys in and opening the door to more of us. The banquet itself is from 7:30-11:30PM on February 18th and costs $60 per person which includes dinner and a 4 hour top shelf open bar. There are two ways to pay: 

1)      Send check to SRRFC C/O Pat Boyle 745 Center Ave Jenkintown, Pa 19046. Checks written out to Schuylkill River RFC.

Dave great email. My vote would be a yes.  because we are not troop technically anymore. We are schuylkill now so we need to become one. And also there is no way to vote a troop person in without this union of togetherness.
