Thanks Doyler for the kind words. You are correct English wings are very tough to find as are 100% ID'd wings such as yours. As a side note, of the 30 or so ID's wings I have been fortunate enough to obtain over the years only a few of them in fact have "Combat Jump Stars" affixed to them. This is in spite of the fact the Veterans that I obtained them from did participate in the Normandy, Holland or both 101st AB combat jumps. One set I have came from a PF from the 506th and he also jumped into Bastogne as well as Normandy and Holland. His wings do not have any devices on them. Years ago I actually researched how they put the stars on the wings. Turns out that they (the men in the 506th anyway) would take their wing to one of the assistants of Samuel "Shifty" Feiler who was the 506th Regimental Dentist and they would drill the holes there and affix a traditional campaign ribbon star. I am sure that this was common practice for the other Regiments in the Division.

Thanks for the info on the wings.I too have seen more wings with out than with the stars as you stated.I believe there are more now.Just like the helmets that get made over I think a lot of the wings have stars and other devices added.

I only have a couple in the collection. One from a 507th man,one on uniform from Charlie Lustoff who was with the 506th in Holland and the Buldge,(I think A Co),Also one on a set of glider wings on a ike from a 101/82nd group I picked up years ago.Couple of groups of 17th stuff I have the vets had both glider and jump wings.I have the certificates (Para and Glider) to a local 17th man.He went to the 82nd at wars end.May post one of the 17th if I can find pics.Take care,

My 507th Guy.He missed Normandy as he had a bone infection flare up in his leg from an injury.Every one in his stick was killed at Normandy on the drop exept his best friend. The others all drowned. His friend was later killed in Belgium before he caught up to the unit when it was assigned to the 17th.He wears a star on the wings and an arrow head on his ETO ribbon for the Varcity jump.

Patrick, I saw the photo of your 82nd guy and I thought I saw him before! I went through my Roy Barger 508th PIR photo album and here's the photo of another guy that I thought it might be. It isn't him after all although there are some similarities. The photo I'm showing here is named to a "Bob Watts" of the 508th and he also has a star on his jump wings.

I'm also showing a set of clutchback jump wings that came from the estate of Roy Barger of the 508th. I have his WWII photo album as well as these jump wings. With him being deceased, no telling when these were acquired by him although the way the star is affixed shows some age. I have a photo of Barger wearing jump wings where the attached star can be seen but I'm not sure I can show it here with enough clarity. Kim

Bottom line: You have to resolve whether you have Kelce as quickly as possible. By your first nomination at the latest. If nominating, say $1, then count on someone else to say $10. And then jump to $45 and pray for crickets.

Fighters can move and fight in all directions of a 3D battle field. Players should learn the lay of the land and formulate a battle plan with a character suited to it. A defeated character comes back after a set amount of time passes. To win the battle, all three sections of the WIN gauge at the top of the screen have to be filled; the gauge fills one section each time an opponent is defeated. Fighters can use regular attacks, power attacks, area-based attacks, and finishing moves. Regular attacks are the main part of the battle, and all combos begin with them. Power attacks leave the user open, but they have a big impact if they connect and their power can be increased by charging them up. Area-based attacks allow to hit opponents over a wide area. By using different techniques, the player can lead his team to victory; learning each character's different power, range, and effects is the first step towards being unbeatable.

Un-hallmarked jump wings, with bronze (campaign) stars added to represent 3 combat jumps during WWII. Very nicely done with three holes drilled, then the stars were inserted with wires separated then holes filled with lead. Great untouched patina to both sides.

Koma (panel) is the term for the characters that the player can use in the game. Each koma uses from 1 to 7 squares of the koma deck at the bottom screen of the Nintendo DS. The deck has 20 squares (4 x 5) for the player to place his koma.

The player can build and store up to ten koma decks, and each deck must have at least one help koma, one support koma and one battle koma to be valid for use in battle. There are also a set of predefined decks that the player can use, but the player cannot change or delete those. It is also possible to exchange decks between friends, but they won't be able to edit the decks.[1]

Ally boosting is done by placing koma next to each other in the deck maker. If the koma placed next to each other are "compatible", their attributes will go up. Battle characters can get a longer health bar, or increase the maximum number of special attack gauges.

Jump Ultimate Stars has been changed slightly from the gameplay of Jump Super Stars. Jump Ultimate Stars gives battle characters the ability to dash and to do a new attack while guarding, which, instead of breaking the guard of the opponent, forces them to change characters, and can be identified by a green glow coming out of the characters which executes it. Also, certain 7 and 8 panel koma (along with certain 5 and 6 panel koma) obtain a visual difference during battle as opposed to the appearance of the 1-6 koma of the very same character, some of this variations also bring a totally different set of attacks to the character (eg. Naruto becomes Kyubii Naruto for his level 7 & 8 koma).
