The Radio Controlled (R/C) Truck and Crawler Course is maintained by the South Florida Scale Crawlers (SFSC). The course is located just south of the airfield in the park. The course includes several types of obstacles and elevated portions of track with varying difficulty for rc car drivers. Patrons need to have an AMA/ROAR badge to use the RC Truck/Crawler Trails and fill out a waiver in the front office. It is a $25 annual fee to use the course. ROAR rules and guidelines along with Markham Park rules are in effect for driving areas at this site.
Electric and nitro powered 1/8 to 1/10 scale trucks by Axial, HPI, Associated and Losi seem to be the popular crawlers here. You can find more information on the rock crawling hobby and the ROAR rules here:
Before we had kids, my husband and I spent quite a few nights out on pub crawls. Fast forward 12 years and those pub crawl nights have morphed into park crawl days with the family. To be honest, the park crawls are probably more fun (and certainly healthier)!
We then headed along Nose Creek and up through Edgewater to check out the pedestrian overpass which our kids had never been on. Watching the traffic below gave us enough rest to head back down to the Midtown playground which is one of our all-time favourite parks. It has the best climbing structure and agility equipment for my wannabe-ninja-warrior son. Conveniently located right by the Midtown playground is a Tim Hortons so we stopped in for a drink and a snack to refuel. Then it was off to Sandpiper Park in Bayside for some pirate-themed fun. We snaked our way along the pathways through the Canals and Sagewood and met up with 24th Street to get back to Reunion.
As a parent, I find park crawls to be one of the best ways to spend quality time as a family. As well as the quality time, it gives us a chance to soak up sunshine, get exercise and enjoy the amenities and scenery our city has to offer.
As a City of Airdrie employee, I am proud of the 76 playgrounds maintained by the City and the ease with which you can see them all. Planning your park crawl is easy with the Playground Tour Map available on Airdrie.ca. The Playground Tour Map shows you where all 76 playgrounds are and includes pictures of each playground to help you decide which ones you want to visit. Airdrie has one of the best pathway systems to connect all the playgrounds together so you can walk, run, ride or roll to your favourite destinations.
You may not be aware, but Genesis Place is a great place to get your group fitness on. With more than 40 drop-in fitness classes from which to choose during the week, their current schedule is packed full of fun and variety for all fitness levels and abilities.
Just a few miles southwest of the Town of Rangely is the only designated natural rock crawling park in the state of Colorado. With more than 560 acres of natural terrain designated by the Bureau of Land Management as a four-wheel drive park, the Rangely Rock Crawling Club has one of the largest areas in the country to climb. Among this vast terrain of rocks is a well designed OHV Trail system. You can spend a day exploring and never see the same country twice. Check out our OHV Trail Guide for maps of the terrain.
Experience over 360 miles of OHV trails in Rangely on the White River Bureau of Land Management! Trails are located between 4 to 35 miles from the center of town and most are accessible without trailering. The trails range from mostly groomed to loose gravel and mild to wild.
Listed in no particular order. Hop around to the parks between 2 and 5 p.m. in whatever order you wish. In addition to exploring the play structures at each park, kids will be offered a complimentary snack (all allergy conscious) and drink at each location, and are invited to participate in an activity led by the organizations noted below.
Any cancellations or delays will be posted in the Facebook event.

Shoreview Park may be an unknown venue to many trail runners, but it makes a great stage for the first event in the Goat Series, since it has a steep escarpment that rises from Boeing Creek to the sports field area of the park and another steep hill from the sport fields to the dog park and Shoreline Community College.
We will be sharing the parking lot at Shoreview Park with people there to use the sports fields, so we will have a few dozen spots available in the eastern (upper) parking lot (click for Google Maps directions), which is reached by driving past the check-in canopies and around the U-shaped bend.
Please allow time to park at Shoreline Community College and walk 1/3 to 1/2 mile to the check-in/start/finish area. We will place some signs or streamers to help direct you down the hill toward our headquarters.
GENERAL SAFETY
The trails will be open to other users during the event. Participants are responsible for their own safety while participating, and the organizers are neither qualified nor equipped to render medical care in the event of a serious injury. In case of an emergency, call 9-1-1. You are encouraged to bring a cell phone with you as a safety precaution, if you wish.
Parking is free for Arboretum Members when their parking code is entered in the Park Houston/Park Mobile App or at the kiosks. Non-members must pay to park to avoid ticketing. Do not leave valuables in your car. Both 610 and Woodway Parking Loops are available for guests.
This is a public program intended for individuals or families. If you would like to bring a group for a program at Government Canyon, please contact the Park Interpreter at
Lisa...@tpwd.texas.gov to schedule at a different time.
We'll start in the Group Picnic Pavilion. Lot A will have the closest parking. The parking lot and path to the pavilion are paved and near an accessible restroom. The Discovery Trail has a packed granite surface. We'll hike no more than one mile, and likely less.
Though the activity is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area do apply. We often fill to capacity. To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and print out a day pass. Day passes can be reserved beginning one month before the date of your visit. Be sure to make a program reservation before purchasing your day passes.
Dress for hiking outdoors. Comfortable shoes, insect repellent (ironic, right?) and a hat are recommended. Bring at least 1 liter of water per person. You may want to bring a blanket or portable chair to sit on.
NYC is the ideal place for food crawls due to the sheer abundance of restaurants and hole-in-the-wall specialty shops lining the streets. We all meet up in a designated neighborhood on a lovely weekend afternoon and follow our noses and stomachs! We will only order one item usually per stop (usually will ask the staff whatever is known to be their specialty) and indulge! From these delicious experiments, we have discovered so many off-the-beaten-path places, and rediscovered old classics.
Hsin Wong is one of the best places to get delicious Chinese BBQ items. The pork, beef, chicken, and peking duck are all savory and perfectly roasted. Chinese BBQ joints are easy to spot as they all tend to carry a distinctive window display of the hanging roasted poultry and meats.
I love ordering take out at all these shops, but Hsin Wong also offers a pleasant dining-in experience. Service at Chinese restaurants is notorious for being rushed and rude, but Hsin Wong is very much an exception!
Dan tat: egg custard tart, Portugese-style has a caramelized crme brle like consistency. Tai Pan also serves traditional egg custard, egg white custard, green tea egg custard, and mini egg custards.
I only mapped out this stop here because along this street, you can find plenty of fruit stands to buy fresh, ripe, and CHEAP fruits. I do stop by 88 Natural Food occasionally to buy some Chinese vegetables, and this shop is also popular for its bubble tea and freshly roasted chestnuts.
There are piles of coconuts at stands throughout Chinatown, and for a couple of bucks you can enjoy the natural sweetness of coconut water. I only wish they cut the fruit further so we could also scoop out the coconut flesh to eat!
