Very minor graphical glitches text characters not in dialog boxes arent transparent, and the display flickers when scrolling through news posts. Its annoying, but still readable. The options to go to the forums or the site appear graphically glitched / not fully readable. Massive frame drops if Steam BPM is on; without it, though, a constant 60 FPS. Very much so playable ran through a couple of hours of it so far just fine.

the game launches and functions fine (no missing textures, audio/controller/overlay all work, as does alt-tabbing) however the performance is lacking. steady 60FPS can be maintained in some areas but in places like the main city it can drop to as low as 23FPS, which is a big deal since as an early report stated the game logic is tied to framerate. you can mitigate this a bit by pointing the camera down to the ground, but ultimately the game needs some work before it can be considered gold/platinum.

Only issue I have run into is if I crank the graphics up all the way, the game is too laggy to play but the defaults work fine. Secondly, only issue other than that, is when you are on the "The World" login screen the menu is messed up but anyone who has played the game before knows the menu so it isn't hard to work around this 1 little issue where everything else works perfectly.

Game starts, but an error pops up that says 'Ayame.dll not found. Music playback will not work'. After closing the popup, the game takes me to the loading screen, but there's no cursor. However, I can still click on things. I just can't see what I'm clicking on.

No audio, loads into the menu and allows you to edit profiles but crashes as soon as you try and make a single-player game or join an online game. Could be due to drivers or distro, considering it works fine on Ubuntu 17.10 without issues.

When trying to start it Wine tells me "The game crashed" and references a log file which says "Alcatraz.exe caused an Access Violation (0xc0000005) in module Alcatraz.exe at 0023:00479229". I was able to run the GOG version, but it doesn't show texts on some buttons / options, and crashes when I exit it (have to enter Ctrl+Alt+F2 and kill Alcatraz.exe from htop to be able to get back to my desktop)

starting normally: nothing opens at all (javaw.exe process keeps running in background); force 64 bit: white empty window opens and immediately closes again; force 32 bit: white empty window opens and just stays like this

On first start: "getthreadcontext failed" (a common error message you may get with Unity Engine games and Nvidia drivers). Use PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% in Steam Launch Option and the game's message box shows up, letting you choose the usual Unity games options (resolutions/graphic quality). Game runs super bad and slow on my PC which can run Witcher 3 or Tomb Raider on max 60FPS and AC Odyssee at 30FPS clocked (1080p). This little game does not want to run at 30FPS with Wine/Proton on lowest settings.

Works almost totally perfect. Only issue is if you switch to windowed during the game, the viewport inside the window will be shifted. You will need to close the game and start it again. It will then run in a window and run without issues.

I also noticed the issues mentioned here previously with the mouse cursor not leaving the borders of the game screen, and windowed mode being visually offset if you switch to it until you restart. For me the mouse cursor limitation was not a concern, and the game seemed to work fine in fullscreen mode without any need for modifications.

For Alpha 17 - In game runs fine, Navezgane loads normally. Can only run in 32-Bit, 64-Bit crashes right at loading screen. Cannot randomly generate maps at all, gets about 75% through then stops with OutOfMemory exception.

Runs, but numerical values such as number of units or $ values appear as ##0; unable to get multiplayer to function or connect; online replays functioned; adding an anti-aliasing value in the video settings causes the screen to displace in a horizontal bar pattern. (Unknown values and no multiplayer prevent a Silver rating).

Numbers such as money etc. aren't properly displayed, instead showing ##0 or else, making the game nearly unplayable. The game itself runs quite well.Experienced a permanent freeze on changing antialiasing settings.

Occasional temporary screen freezes occur when Alt-Tabbing. (Unknown values and no multiplayer prevent a Silver rating).

The game starts fine, but the main interface for the whole game is meant to be a 3D globe of the earth which you can pan around to travel between cities. On my laptop it is rendered incorrectly as a bright yellow transparent sphere (like a gaseous sun) with no surface features and with the text of the cities barely legible in white. While it's technically possible to play, this makes it annoyingly difficult to navigate and I don't find it comfortable enough to play through. The various text dialogs also have some minor graphical glitches. Disabling D3D11 or using Wine D3D11 had no effect. Disabling esync caused it get stuck on a black loading screen.

D3D11 disabled, doesn't run fullscreen. Windowed mode shows some minor glitches (black circles next to the icons on mouse over (incorrect tooltips?), font scaling does not seem right) but generally works fine.

Worked great! Played to the first boss. Had around 300 fps according to steam. Xbox controller worked fine. Sound was great. I haven't played on windows so if something was missing I wouldn't know but it looked like the demos on youtube.

"protontricks 253230 xact" was used to fix the sound. Game runs pretty decent, occasional graphics glitches (screen turning white at certain angles in certain situations) but very playable overall. PS4 controller worked but using the controller autodetect function locked up the game.

Almost a full playthrough, I'm only missing a few time rifts but I played all acts. You have to install xact to avoid audio issues (easiest way is through protontricks : install and then run `protontricks 253230 xact`).There is a very minor glitch (white flashes) in one of the early levels, but it doesn't really affect gameplay and that level is only 5 minutes long anyways. The rest of the game renders with no issues. No problems either with controller support. My Logitech F310 is recognized as a 360 gamepad but whatever, it works. That game is aaalmooost Gold...but I have to rate it Silver because performance is not as good as it should be, especially in high-polycount areas like Mafia Town. Thankfully there are plenty of graphical options to tweak, and I could to maintain a mostly stable 60 FPS with the game still looking good. But that may not be achievable on older hardware.Boop !

Game works, sound is broken unless you use xact audio with protontricks as others have suggested. There are some annoying graphical glitches, especially in the first couple levels, but the entire game is playable. There is a noticeable preformance hit from windows, I had to go down to high from ultra high graphics when running through proton.

Has a shader rendering incorrectly in Chapter 1, Act 3. Occasionally has some stutters.Had one random crash when I slipped in an oil/paint spill, though I've been unable to reproduce the same crash again.

The game has a problem with the audio! To fix this problem you have to use protontricks to install "xcat" and then in winecfg we have to add xaudio2_7 to complete. In act 3 of chapter 1 sometimes a white screen appears but nothing that hinders much (if it moves a little more it corrects)!

The game still runs noticeably worse than on Windows, and there are some rendering issues, probably due to the game running on DirectX 9. Initially, I had disabled the FPS cap in the game's video settings. This cause the game to run very poorly, frequently stuttering. DON'T CHANGE THE FPS CAP SETTING, unless you have a very good CPU, and even then don't set it to unlimited.

Game launches fine from a default install, but as others note you must install xact with winetricks to get audio muxing working. Installing xact broke controller support for me, however, and I needed to install the setup_dumxinputemu.verb (available from its repository on github) to get controller support back. After those two things, game runs very acceptably on my older machine. Local co-op even works!

Game itself runs without any errors, but I think the game uses DirectX 9 for some reason, so performance is very bad. Usually one core will be maxed out and the rest unused. Make sure you have a good CPU to play this game.

Performance is bad unless you tweak settings a bit like disable antialiasing or set it to "FXAA0", limiting draw distance, disabling blur also helps. Audio sliders in settings do not work, and audio sometimes feel weird - when loading level music starts once, plays for a second then starts again. Some abient sounds feel like they're playing at full volume always. Some minor visual glitches in mafia town when it's raining.

Game has a noticeable low framerate (could just be the GPU itself though) without meddling with default graphics. Game ambience too loud while dialog volume too low, volume unchangeable in the options.

Framerate is fine on low settings, however sound effects from objects in the environment all sound as if they are in close proximity to the player (e.g. you will hear the doggo version of the spaceship theme when you begin the game, as if you were close to the TV)

Framerate is MUCH worse than on Windows - on Windows, I get stable framerate on Ultra, while on Linux I need to use minimum settings. Occasional stuttering. Some minor audio and visual bugs. Overall, it's playable, but I wouldn't recommend it for the time being.
