Back in 1996, Shaquille O'Neal unveiled his third studio LP, You Can't Stop The Reign. The project contained 19 songs and a wealth of assists from the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., Mobb Deep, Bobby Brown, Peter Gunz, and JAY-Z -- the last of whom appeared alongside the legendary baller on the standout cut "No Love Lost."

On Wednesday (June 26), Shaq hopped on social media and announced that You Can't Stop The Reign will officially land on digital streaming platforms this Friday (June 28). In addition, he confirmed that an unreleased track with Nas and JAY-Z will be included on the updated release.

"Back at the storage cleaning out," Smith captioned the post. "Found some heavy sessions today. Last slide is a doozy," he concluded, referencing the late Static Major and music engineer Kamel Abdo, the latter who assisted on unreleased JAY-Z track "Hello Young Lady."

Smith's unreleased collection included "Christies" from The Neptunes, "Operator" from a 2002 Pro Tools session with Timbaland and Major which had "3 versions of hooks," along with 2006 material from Smith and Ghostface Killah dubbed "Missing Audio Files." Additional works from JAY-Z were also in the haul, with a 2002 CD from the Brooklyn emcee and rap duo M.O.P., along with Hov being featured on a 2007 CD with Madlib, Sleepy Brown, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek and Trey Songz.

Remember when Kanye West and JAY-Z were pals and they released the magnificently opulent collaborative album Watch The Throne? Much has happened in the relationship between the two since then, which now rests in a place that is best described as 'frictious'. Now, a hitherto unreleased track has leaked, throwing back to the Throne sessions, to a time when the once-close super-pair still made music with each other.

Titled 'Living So Italian', the track features a vocal sample from legendary Italian classical singer Andrea Bocelli. According to Hypebeast, the song was premiered at a Throne listening party but did not feature in the album's 12-song tracklist. JAY-Z would later go on to use the verse he raps on this song on 'FuckWitMeYouKnowIGotIt', off his 12th album Magna Carta Holy Grail, which released in 2013, two years after Throne.

It's a headline made in clickbait heaven: Daft Punk and Jay Z, on the same song, sporting alleged production from Kanye West. Awesome! I love pop music! All this needs is a Lana Del Rey hook and it'd be PERFECT. The below song, titled "Computerized," has been making the rounds throughout the internets, despite we the internets-native public having no knowledge of from whence this loosie came.

This surfaced on a KanyeToThe forum (via DaftClub) about two hours ago, when poster LordLordLord started a thread called "(Leaked New Music) Daft Punk - Computerized (Feat. Jay-Z)[Unreleased Demo] Co-Produced By Kanye West." LordLordLord had no way of corroborating that this is, in fact, legit. Not to be a Debbie Downer about the abundant joy that new rap music can bring us, but if life has taught us anything, if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Which would explain why "Computerized" kind of sucks. As someone with an internet connection and the capability to not jump to conclusions, I did some digging and found out what's up with "Computerized."

From there, let's analyze Jay Z's lyrics, which include the line, "I got an iTouch but I can't feel," and also a reference to Hov Jobs' BlackBerry. Judging from the dated technology iHova is talking about on here, this is probably old as fuck. A google search for the lyrics reveals they are indeed previously-unreleased Jay lyrics, but there's no guarantee Jay's words were meant to appear over this beat, or who even made the beat. If this is indeed a Kanye production, the Daft Punk sample would place it from around the time he was making Graduation and Jay was making The Blueprint 3, when both were flirting with electronic-leaning production: Kanye of course rapped over Daft Punk for "Stronger," and Swizz Beatz flipped Justice's "D.A.N.C.E." for "On to the Next One" (watch the sample get flipped live here).

So, in conclusion, "Computerized" is probably an old track that was never meant to see the light of day. The biggest red flag? "Computerized" kind of sucks. No way Kanye, Jay, and Daft Punk wanted to let it into this cold, unloving world.

DJ Absolut is currently on week 15 of his Mixtape Mondays series and unearthed a real gem for his latest entry. DJ Absolut took this previously unreleased version of Jay Z's "The Black Gangster" and shared it with the world.

The song is also known by the title "This Life Forever" and was featured on the 1999 Black Gangster soundtrack and Jay Z's 2003 mixtape S. Carter Collection. A version of the song first appeared on a 1997 Roc-A-Fella promotional tape released a few months before Jay Z's album In My Lifetime, Vol. 1 dropped.

While Jay Electronica hinted that Jay Z may have some new music in the works, this rare track uncovered by DJ Absolut might end up being the only "new" Jay Z song released in 2015. Regardless, this alternate version of "The Black Gangster" is a must-have for diehard Hov fans to add to their libraries and playlists.
