You might use this after a catastrophic crash where your QC is not performing properly. This procedure is straight from the 1.4 manual. Good to know how to force a factory reset in a pinch. I believe this retains your current firmware version but forces a factory reset up to and including deleting all user data.
Is there a process for reloading the firmware if you already have the most recent version? My QC locked up during the 2.0.0 update and had to be restarted. Now all of the factory captures are corrupted or missing and a factory reset does not fix it.
I believe the recovery process detailed in my initial post should work, even if you are on the latest firmware. Also, have you tried restoring your presets from the cloud backup? That is another option.
Hi! I also got the same problem. It allways gives push notifications even outside the activityzones and does not filter cars, animals and other movements. I cannot find the reset button for a factory reset/hard reset. See picture. Can anyone help?!1590919216636668810621767350010240001800 1.49 MB
If none of the steps above help, factory reset the device and then retry setup. Note that this will clear your data from the device and can't be undone. You may also want to try setup using a different phone or tablet if you have one, just to test.
Press and hold the Reset button on the back of the Firebox.
While you continue to hold the Reset button, power on the Firebox.
Continue to press the Reset button until the Attn indicator begins to flash.
Release the Reset button. Do not power off the Firebox yet.
Wait for the reset process to complete. This can take as long as 70 seconds. When the reset is complete, the Attn indicator stays lit and does not flash.
Power off the Firebox.
Power on the Firebox.
The Firebox restarts with factory-default settings.
Hello. I got a sonicwall tz670 second hand and I'm trying to factory reset it. After some research it looks like the maintenance key is required in order to factory reset it but I dont have the maintenance key and I have no way of getting it since the previous owner doesn't even have it.
Hi All, I have deleted all the factory preset sounds and wish to restore them. Reading the manual it sounds like I can create a blank project and perform a factory reset on this and the factory sounds will return and populate the +drive and be available across all projects, but all other projects will be unaffected.
I have no sounds stored in banks A and B. My projects are backed up but not the +drive - should I back this up as well?
It resets the factory sounds, settings and demo in the default project, bank A (and B?). It leaves everything else there such as OS, projects and stuff not in first (two) banks as is. If you want a fresh install, I found I needed to do a reformat drive, to clear projects and samples.
I got my brand new A4M2 (My first Elektron machine),after some wiggling,i accidently did the wipe of +Drive sound library. Is there any way to get the factory/default Soundbanks back? Im so lost.
Best Wishes.
Tom
13.3 FACTORY RESET
When performing a factory reset on the Analog Four MKII it will overwrite and re-initialize the active project (including all pattern, kit, sound pool and global data). The +Drive project slot 1 will be overwritten and re-initialized. Sound bank A and B will be overwritten with the factory Sounds. Factory preset patterns, kits, Sounds and settings will be re-initialized.
If you wish to keep the active project, remember to save it to a +Drive project slot higher than 1 before you perform a factory reset. To perform a factory reset, press [TRIG] key 3.
I'm in the process of testing a pair of SimpliVity nodes in a lab and have managed to get things to look decidedly unstable - Long story short is that I would like to undertake a factory reset on both nodes and re-install. The issue was due to an issue with our DNS during the deployment and the nodes were added to the vCenter as IP addresses and not DNS names - during remediation attempts the nodes were removed from the cluster and now fail to rejoin. This may be fixable but I planned to test the factory reset option anyway and so will take this apporach.
I believe there should be a factory reset funtion as part of 4.0.1 and want to use this procedure or alternatively set these nodes back to discoverable (if that is an option without doing a full factory reset - not sure)
How do I do this - I think I might need to full image as I can't see any factory reset option and the downloadable zip file only comes with the 800MB tiny usb image. Am I missing something that will allow me to do a factory reset
A factory reset is no longer needed with 4.0.1 , if you want to clean up old data (not mandatory), you can just boot to the SVT SPP, select the interactive mode, and using SSA to remove all data volume. Boot volume should be kept.
So it took me a while to get it but essentially the factory reset option has been removed in 4.0.1 but the procedure is the same. Download the deployment package and unpack it into your 'Downloads' folder. Copy the .img file to a USB and boot from the USB ( I was using iLO in which case use IE to start the iLO browser and use the 'Java' console - I had no success with Chrome and the HTML console). Then you wait - the screen goes blank and it takes about 30mins before you see anything back. Eventually it will boot into the familiar 'waiting to be discovered' screen where you can set an IP address if you need to.
So...I had moved on resolving myself to a factory reset and soon realized the paper clip method doesn't work? Apparently the hardware reset button isn't enabled?? Seriously?? Without venting too much on why that is....well...moving on, how do I then reset it back to factory defaults? The serial port?
hello, sorry for the writing but i am french and i use a translator. I want to know how to do a factory reset because my machine does not work on ignition I have a thud that remains continuously I tried the different ways to reset it but nothing helps.

Hi, I've studied the forum, I've followed suggestions about holding down option key on a Mac when launching AP and hitting clear. I've followed the edit/restore to default (greyed out). I've uninstalled AP and reinstalled BUT I can't get AP to restore to factory default? Please let me know what I'm doing wrong? Many thanks for help and patience
Yes following the steps and it doesn't reset to dark background which concerns me as I messed around a lot (i.e. in the performance section) before I purchased the AP book and am wondering what else isn't reseting. So I want to a total reset before diving into the book?
Hi @Tracyirisheyes,
Welcome to Affinity Forums
To reset the app to its default settings, press and hold CTRL while launching the app until a Clear User Data dialog appears on screen. Leaving the first three checkboxes ticked and pressing the Clear button should fix most common issues. If you prefer you can tick all the checkboxes (in the first group on top) - these will clear up a couple more things (keyboard shortcuts, file export presets, snapping options presets etc) but still leave any additions you may have added to the app(s) intact like custom brushes, object styles, test styles, assets etc (that are shared across them).
Ticking ALL checkboxes (both top and bottom group) will reset everything in Designer and in the other apps of the suite too (Publisher, Photo), including shared assets, customs brushes, object styles, macros - anything you have added to the apps - to the factory defaults. It's a full reset. If you don't export them before the reset (in case you watt to keep them to install later) you will lose them.
Before going to such extend, can you tell us wha's not working for you exactly - what setting(s) - are failing? There may be an easy way to fix them without reset anything.
Wait a few minutes for the Factory Data Reset to complete. The TV will restart twice, and eventually, the welcome screen will appear. After the factory reset process completes, the TV will start the Initial Setup.
This process has two parts. You start with performing a manual factory reset by using the TV buttons, allowing you to access the settings menu to perform a second factory data reset with your remote.
You have to explain what you mean by the phone factory reset on its own. I have never heard of such a thing. If someone knew your Apple ID/iCloud and password, I suppose it would be possible for them to log into iCloud.com using your credentials and erase the device. Other than that, I see no way this could happen.
There are two ways how to perform a factory reset. The procedure depends on your firmware version. First, find out your firmware version number by navigating to LCD menu - support - Firmware. Once you know the version number, use the corresponding instructions below. We recommend keeping your printer's firmware up to date.
Before you even think about doing a factory reset on your MacBook, you need to save any data you want to keep. You may have already done this at some point if you migrated data from this old MacBook to a new one using Apple's Migration Assistant. If that's not the case, it's time to hook up an external drive and use MacOS' built-in Time Machine tool to create a backup. If you have an iCloud account, you can back up your data there as well.
Two other things you should do before a factory reset: Unpair any Bluetooth devices -- particularly if the MacBook is being gifted to someone in your household -- and reset the NVRAM. The latter is memory that holds onto settings that the MacBook needs before loading MacOS. On startup, press and hold Option-Command-P-R to reset the NVRAM.
