hi,

just popping in to say hi and ask a few questions.

some of the old timers from magpie may remember my get-off, (honda
accord v 98 adventurer), in sept 12 2000 when my "handle" became
splat. i was banged up up not too bad...the worst, (because of lenght
of time to heal and loss of really fun UNIX software engineering
career), was a tenatious left shoulder soft tissue injury...but i
have moved on...

currently i am on a 93 bmw k 1100 lt which is setup for iron butt
rides, (am/fm, cb, valentine1, passenger communications, gps, aux 5
gal fuel cell w/ quick disconnects, piaa 910's, gerbing plug(s)...all
the standard stuff), which i got in altadina,ca and rid back to ct in
may 05.

i see our fearless leader steve, bare, ken t (remember tony a.). ken
may remember the bmw as we met up right after i bought it. you all
still met up on thurday nights at the resturant? i guess ken-ish and
t-bone are off doing other things?

i thought i would be doing more ld, long distance, and this bike is
one of the best for that, but alas i have not done that. if anyone is
interested in a great rally bike with tonnes of electrical power (700+
watts), let me know...

so i have been looking at modern classic bonnies...
is there a good web sitre which discusses these bonnies?
in particular i am interested in shorter bikes,
- i see there is a current offering which is 29.5"...are there others
or ways to lower them?
- anyone know what the alternator output is?
- is there a windscreen bigger than the fly screen i see at the
triumph site?
- between the t100, se and bonnie, i do not see what the differences
are other than small things like fender size and wheel size...why a
$1500 difference?

- how do these bikes ride? would long rides, (1,000 mile, i would
want to have her earn her iba membership at least once) be torture?

thanks in advance,
peter

Your best bet bet would be to go look at the Bonneville message boards at Triumphrat.net.  It's by far the best resource for Triumph info; I don't know what I would do without it.  If you spend a little time, you'll find answers to all your questions, including the differences between the different models (they're mostly cosmetic).
Good luck.

quite the rucaus back in the day.
