A : By looking at this topic first thing that come to my mind is that government promises a lot that we will bring technology advancements, new infrastructure, computers etc. To rural India. But just ask the rural people they simply don't want these things, they just want drinking water. People in rural part of India travel miles to get drinking water, and in most of the villages a tanker comes and people fight for their turn to get water as they are actually fighting for life. This situation is quite critical. So government first provide them the basic needs of life instead of keep promising them on the other things which is expressed in the topic as Pepsi, cola.
B : "We Need Drinking Water and Not Coke & Pepsi in Rural India".
We have to understand that why suddenly the above statement arises?, why haven't we discussed these matter in the past?, because the main source of manufacture of these Coke and Pepsi products are water. These factories needs a lot of water for manufacturing and also to take away the waste products at end. That's why they choose river side areas for their factories.
Since the price of land in urban areas are more, since the lack of water in the urban areas are more, these companies prefer more on rural areas.
On the other hand the rural people depends more on these river water for their living, agriculture etc. These companies not only used the rural people water for their products and destroyed the rural people life line, they silence these affected people by brute force.
Now the rural environment is getting affected by these MNC's and when these people protest against this, their grievousness are not even listened by anyone. The government which needs to be the protector of the rural people are turning into a greatest friend for the MNC's. The government in the name of improving the economy of country, increasing employment, increasing the lifestyle of urban people is actually killing the rural people.
Remember that you are not drinking a cool drink, but drinking the blood and tears of the rural affected people. It almost look like they spread the disease and also give the remedy for us at high price.
Think of what will happen when too much water is being used and too much chemicals are being dumped into water, and finally the water dries out. These MNC's will easily relocate their location but what about the people living there.
Please save our environment, and don't fell into these fancy companies and destroy our fellowmen.
C: Hello friends,
Recently I read somewhere that two-third of the Indian households do not have proper sanitation, but more then half have phones, and majority of them have mobile phones. Moreover only 40% of the population has acess to pure drinking water. Now this is really a concerning issue.
The topis is a sattire on our Indian politics and villages which says that instesd of promising us a lavish life, please provide us the basic facilities first. Coke, pepsi, cell phones, dish antennas these are secondary, what we first need is pure drinking water, 2 meals per day, shelter and clothes to wear. It should be noted by our diplomats and bureaucrats that showing lavish lifestyle in Indian villages, does not mean "INDIA SHINING". But instead India will shine when each and everyone will have access to the basic facilities in life.
D: I think everone here has misunderstood the topic "WE NEED WATER MORE THAN PEPSI" because according to me by qouting this line author sarcastically is showing the condition of villages in India and wants to say that they need basic amenities more, rather than any kind of luxurious lifestyle. And I really appriciate the fact that people in villages definately need pure water, safe food, proper transport instead of having pizza hut or mcdonald. In India fulfilling their basic needs by our politicians is more important than anything else for now.
E :In my point of view we still have villages in India where people are dying due to scarcity of water. Coke or Pepsi are the things not at all needed to survive, but what needed is water. One should be able to prioritise whether water is important or soft drinks which are totally harmful to human body.Anna Hazare went on Fasting for 13 days. He just used to drink plenty of water. So think of it that how important the WATER is....thank you
F: In India, there is really scarcity of water but why to blame coke and pepsi companies for this. We are wasting water like anything and blaming others for this and say that there is scarce for water. I agree we need drinking water and not coke and pepsi but the point is everyone buy cooldrinks and say that we don't need these companies. We are buying these cooldrinks so they planted there companies in India, so we have to blame ourselves not these companies.
