Colleagues,
As organizer of the Tristan sessions, I am concerned about the status of proposals for Kalamazoo.
The guidelines for the Medieval Congress stipulates that the individual submit one proposal to one session. It is not one proposal to each session or anything like that. The phrasing is unequivocal in this regard.
Yet again this year someone countered the guidelines. This affects adversely the sessions we plan and wastes my time and that of the program committee when this occurs. On this very weekend I am preparing for a conference and shortly after will travel to give papers. The exchanges I have had to have this weekend have absorbed much preparation time because of this carelessness.
In future, when you submit the PIF be honest when you attest to submitting a single proposal to a single session.
