Hi all,

         For those of you that miss the fun-filled trivia quizzes in school and college culturals back in India, the UCSD Quiz Club, Trishna, is organizing a special event:   

Guest quizmaster Arjun (from Qualcomm) will be conducting a quiz on
Saturday, March 6th, 2pm
at the
North Mesa Community room, (3875, Miramar Street, CA-92037)

And finally, here is the mandatory question to pique your interest further:

Haloid was started in 1906, as a tiny company making and spelling photographic paper, they made it big after buying the rights of an idea from an unknown inventor named Chester F. Carlson, which they initially called electrophotography. Later an Ohio State Univ classical language professor suggested a better name for the process. What are we talking about?

Xerox. The professor suggested  “xerography” meaning dry writing in Greek. This inspired the name "xerox" for the company.
