Hi François,
Here are some questions/ideas. Others may chime in with additional
ideas.
We'll help to get you set up.
1. Are you using TriSano 1.0 Final or the latest code off the TriSano
Subversion trunk?
2. The more detailed instructions are targeted at developers, but may
be
of use:
https://trisano.csin
itiative.net/wiki/TriSanoDeveloperWorkInstructions
3. Someone else asked for help getting Ubuntu set up and we helped
them
out in IRC a few months ago. Here are the logs from that. It may help
(although it likely is hard to follow):
http://irclogs.csini
tiative.com/trisano/index.php?date=2008-11-10
4. Did the installation of postgres (8.3), java (1.6), and jruby
(1.1.6)
go ok? Do you have the versions indicated? I assume you followed these
instructions:
http://www.trisano.org/collaborate/installationinstructions/
?
5. With regards to the shutdown.sh error, I'm guessing that you just
need to set the TOMCAT_HOME environment variable to the proper
location
in your bash config. For example:
export TOMCAT_HOME=/home/mike/opt/apache-tomcat-6.0.14
6. With regards to the "Application initialization failed" error, was
there any more detail?
7. Depending on the answer to #6, we can try to first get you setup
without Tomcat first.
8. Regarding Netepi collection, I don't know much about that project
other than what I have read briefly on the internet so I'm not
qualified
to answer. TriSano™ is an open source, citizen-focused surveillance
and
outbreak management system for infectious disease, environmental
hazards, and bioterrorism attacks. It allows local, state and federal
entities to track, control and ultimately prevent illness and death.
Check the TriSano 1.0 FINAL release notes for more details and screen
