Sean,
We would love to have you come to our launch site to launch your water rockets. Please take note that we are launching on a sod farm so we would not want the sod damaged so if you have a blast plate or something under the rocket during take off that would help address that concern. Are your rockets recovered under parachute or streamer or just tumble back slowly due to atmospheric drag?

Subject: Water Rockets?
I am new to rocketry and I am very interested in attending one of your launch days this summer at some point (I am unable to attend tommorrow's launch). My rockets are less than traditional, though. They are water rockets which I construct out of Soda Bottles of various sizes, fill with water, presurize with a bicycle pump, and launch off of a launcher made of PVC pipes. They typically fly about 100 to 500ft high. I would like to launch them at your launch site if possible. Are water rockets allowed? Is anyone else in this group into water rockets? There doesn't seem to be a water rocket club in Minnesota so I thought I would check here.

Sean,
Unfortunately, upon further investigation our leadership team has determined that water rockets are not covered under our national Tripoli insurance policies. Therefore, due to this lack of coverage we cannot permit water rockets to be launched at our events. I am sorry, however, we would be happy to have you come out, watch our event, and if interested learn about solid fuel or hybrid fueled rockets. Please call me with further questions and perhaps I can help direct you to a launch venue.
