You guys aren't big on discussing your rockets projects on the group,
huh? We could be posting photos, questions, designs, simulations,
crazy ideas, etc. Part of my goal with this discussion group was to
get a large percentage of the membership subscribed to it in hopes
that we could all learn from each other.

But so be it. We is what we is.

At the next launch I'm going to launch Cindy Loo Hoo on an L motor:

It sims to 6k ft and 1000 mph. I have both single and dual deploy
configurations.Might tape a video camera to it.

Meanwhile I am starting on Threedom II. I might put 3 damn flight
computers in it.

Speaking of my lawn dart, I realized I had a kevlar main in the front
section. The motor case probably smashed through the electronics,
although it was two sheets of thick fiberglass with a 1/4" rod going
through it. So the sandwich would be the motor case on top, the
remains of the payload bay, if any, and then a kevlar pancake in
front.

The fact that it went so deep in the earth means the earth absorbed a
lot of energy. I am betting the motor case is intact and there is a
small chance that the payload bay compressed in such a way as to leave
one or both of the flight computers intact. I would be fun to excavate
it if Harley was done with that stretch of sod.

Next month, we could take my handheld gps and mark the location. I'm sure
Harley would let you excavate the spot when he pulls the sod off.

With the soil being a peat bog and very wet, a guy could gestimate the
compresse strength of wet peat(roughly 196 kPa.), the mass of the rocket and
velocity come up with a pretty good idea how far it went in.My math is a
little rusty, but I'll give it a try later and see what I come up with.

I have 3 projects in the hopper. A LOC Bruiser EXP for my airstart project,
a Binder Samurai and I am scratch building a Cherokee-C scaled up 6X from
Semroc kit plans for a M motor launch next year. I want to try this projects
using the Blue Tube's have. It will be 6" dia x 108" tall.
