Many Nigerian youths sees the nysc scheme as a total waste of time, others Work their way to their preferred states of deployment due to personal reasons. I used to think the same way too but now my mindset has changed totally about the Scheme due to the changes,lessons and experinces gotten during my service year. For sure there are setbacks about the scheme, but this post tends to focus on the positive side of the program.
I know many of you will be wondering what NYSC means especially non Nigerians steemians.
NYSC is an acronym for National Youth Service Corps. The scheme was established on 22nd may 1973 with the aim of fostering common ties among the youths of Nigeria and the promotion of national unity due to the multi-tribal nature of Nigeria.
The scheme is mandatory for graduates from Nigeria origin irrespective of the University/where you studied. So far the graduate is not above thirty years after graduation, Graduates above 30 years will be issued an exemption letter. Enough of the stories..... I need to share how the scheme changed my life
